That sounds fun.

sensuallettuce · 05/04/2012 18:40

Do you still get a lolly if you have a clear plate?! Grin

helloclitty · 05/04/2012 18:40

Is it the Heston B one?

Pandemoniaa · 05/04/2012 18:41

I can think of better places. But not many that are worse.

SparkyMcSparrowLaidMiniEggs · 05/04/2012 18:42

Pandemoniaa My thinking exactly!

Our local one has closed down. It's a shame, we liked to play 'match the food to the picture'. Grin

What are the alternatives? Spudulike? Motorway Services?

RachelWalsh · 05/04/2012 18:44

Mmmmm, last time I was at little chef I was charged about 20 quid for eggs with a thick grey skin on the bottom and bacon with bits of bone in. Delicious.

The 'Olympic Breakfast' yum. Sad

MissFaversham · 05/04/2012 18:46

The "Little Chef" was always the worst place to go to on a motorway stop off when I was a kid. I haven't heard anything to the contrary since Grin lever it right into room 101

Its' shite

NettoSuperstar · 05/04/2012 18:47

Is your MIL Waynetta Slob?

I love a good dirty meal, but not as a planned family lunch surely?Confused

MissFaversham · 05/04/2012 18:49

Off topic here. Angry. Ratatouille - I had mice a longwhile back and due to that frigging film, DS had to name him and take him over to the park to let him go!

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 05/04/2012 18:50

I used to love the little chef lollies when I was a kid! And the Jubliee Pancakes, do they still make those?

Sparklingbunnyears · 05/04/2012 18:53

Here. You can peruse the 'delights' before you go. Grin

SparkyMcSparrowLaidMiniEggs · 05/04/2012 18:54

Check out the wine list.

Pandemoniaa · 05/04/2012 19:01

On our way to Cornwall a couple of years ago we made the mistake of staying overnight at a Travel Lodge somewhere in Somerset. After escaping the grim, mouldy bedroom we wandered into the adjacent Little Chef (the only breakfast option) and even DP - a man noted for his unfussiness with food - baulked at their excuse for food. The prices were eyewatering too.

Mrsrobertduvall · 05/04/2012 19:02

No Blue Nun or Black Tower?

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 05/04/2012 19:02

Does your mil hate you?

SparkyMcSparrowLaidMiniEggs · 05/04/2012 19:03

That may well be one near me Pandemoniaa :( I be in Somerset

I remember eating breakfast at one near Durham once. We ordered coffee, it came, we poured the milk in, the milk was off. Very off.

Lumps of cheese floating around the cup and it stank

It wasn't fresh in a jug. The milk was from a uht carton. How old must they have been to be off?

Sparklingbunnyears · 05/04/2012 19:05

Even though the local Little Chef has closed down, the Travelodge next to it is still open, so don't know what the breakfast options are now. Confused Cheaper though presumably. Grin
