Tis what my MIL suggested Hmm

I used to like it when I was a kid, it was part of the holiday. Some are better than others. If it's the only convenient option I will go, but I'd never 'plan' to go and certainly not for 'a meal out'

OAM2009 · 06/04/2012 22:34

Sorry: [bugrin]

How awesome is that? [busmile]

Sweepitundertherug · 06/04/2012 22:36

Bloody hell, how expensive!

usualsuspect · 06/04/2012 22:37

I love little chef breakfasts .

WhaleOilBeefHookedIWill · 06/04/2012 22:43

It's shite but for some reason the kids always want to go there (i totally did my heels in where possible) but one night, like a previous poster we stopped in a travelodge on the way to our holiday and again the only place to eat at that time was little chef. I had some excuse for chicken (it could possibly have been a rubber chicken?) and DH had some pie which was practically empty. When he complained to the manager he said 'we cant help that sir we dont cook them we just warm them up..' Niiiiiiccce advertisement for your extremley overpriced products there...

MickyDodger · 06/04/2012 23:45

Expensive? Shock Compared to what?

Sparklingbunnyears · 07/04/2012 07:22

Compared to a made from scratch home cooked meal from the lovely little pub down the road. Smile

somewherewest · 07/04/2012 10:04

We drive from south-east England to north-west Wales a couple of times a year. Unless you've got the time and inclination to faff around leaving the motorway its the least bad option now that every bloody service station is monopolised by Costa and Kentucky Fried Crud.

lovetoro · 08/04/2012 15:21

does anyone know if little chef will be open tommorrow, i could do with some of those jubilee pancakes!

WhaleOilBeefHookedIWill · 11/04/2012 10:52

No no no
I travel lots. I could never consider it 'the least bad option' simply the worst possible option. KFC is shite but knows it. It doesn't pretend it's crap food is restaurant quality and charge ridiculous prices in context to the shite it serves

WhaleOilBeefHookedIWill · 11/04/2012 10:54

Some meals at little chef are about £15. I could get bistro quality food for that in a lovely environment cooked by chefs that shock horror actually MAKE the food they serve...

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/04/2012 11:45

My gran favours Wimpy herself! You can't beat those circular sausages! Confused

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/04/2012 11:48

If we are travelling, we stop at services that have McDonald's. It's cheap, consistent, and the food is vaguely edible. YOur talking £5 for McD breakfast vs £10 or so in little chef and the like.
