By a bloody sewing machine?
Why can't I figure it out!

YANBU - me too. Never gone back to it. Meh to sewing machines.

You have to have the gift - my sis does and she is having lessons and is a sewing machine whisperer.

notitswerebritish · 31/03/2012 14:43

It just makes holes where stitches should be.

GinPalace · 31/03/2012 14:45

Ahhhhh - I do know enough to know you also need thread - not just the machine. It is clever but not magic those who can work them are however

Grin
MrsKittyFane · 31/03/2012 14:45

What seems to be the problem? < expert >
:o

OrangeCrushed · 31/03/2012 14:46

You have put thread in right?

LoopyLoopsIsTentativelyBack · 31/03/2012 14:47

Is there thread in the bobbin? (underneath, small round thing). If so, is that thread coming up out near the needle (should be)

Sposh · 31/03/2012 14:48

You deffo need thread. Or did you think they glued the fabric together? Grin

notitswerebritish · 31/03/2012 14:48

I have put the tread in....this does not mean it is in right tho!

OP posts:
Sposh · 31/03/2012 14:49

Wind the bobbin up!

Wind the bobbin up!

Pull. Pull.

Clap clap clap.

Sorted!

MrsKittyFane · 31/03/2012 14:49

Have you plugged it in?

notitswerebritish · 31/03/2012 14:49

There are 2 threads, one from the top, going through a maze of holes and into the needle. And one from the bottom which is coming up through a little hole under the needle.

I needed a 2.5 hour tutorial in how to use mine. Would have been no hoper without that. I am supposed to have an IQ of 160+, too.

Speaking of which, I am supposed to be on it now Blush.

MrsKittyFane · 31/03/2012 14:51

Now you're getting there!

Have you pulled the threads through so there's a good length on them before you hit the peddle because if you haven't they may just whip back when you start sewing which is why you're getting holes and not nice neat stitches.

notitswerebritish · 31/03/2012 14:56

Yup plenty of thread.

OP posts:
Sposh · 31/03/2012 14:57

Dunno then.

GinPalace · 31/03/2012 14:57

Do you really need to sew this thing? Could you take the kids and go and fly a kite instead - much more fun.

MrsKittyFane · 31/03/2012 14:58

Have you tried it yet?! Needle down, Foot down?

notitswerebritish · 31/03/2012 14:58

Stupid machine is for one of the kids!

OP posts:
notitswerebritish · 31/03/2012 14:59

Yup mrskitty.
Still just holes.

OP posts:
MrsKittyFane · 31/03/2012 15:00

Is it one of those really small mini machines? If it is, put it in the bin.
< even more helpful>

notitswerebritish · 31/03/2012 15:01

Haha! It is! I didn't want to spend a lot until I knew it would be used!

OP posts:
MrsKittyFane · 31/03/2012 15:02

Check bottom thread, is bobbin in the right way round?

Sposh · 31/03/2012 15:03

This is a bit out there but... have you read the instruction booklet?
