Bollocks.

StopSwearingNagoo · 27/03/2012 19:44
Hmm
PurpleRomanesco · 27/03/2012 19:44

No she didn't :)

ABatInBunkFive · 27/03/2012 19:45

Tell me about it OP my brothers cousins sisters friend knows someone who got a free TV when she asked for a house just for asking politely.

Hmm
Kayzr · 27/03/2012 19:45

I doubt it very much. My XH has just got a 1 bedroom flat. Despite him having 2 children that go to stay.

BakersDozen · 27/03/2012 19:46

Funnily enough I can quite believe it.

A friend of mine has a 2 bed house, lovely big garden, single professional.

AgnesCampbellMacPhail · 27/03/2012 19:46

They are lying to you.

diabolo · 27/03/2012 19:47

Certain parts of the UK have far less demand for Housing Association / Council accommodation than others. Perhaps the friend of a friend etc lives in one of these areas.

My single brother (50 yo) got one (2 bed) very easily in the NE.

JuliaScurr · 27/03/2012 19:48

Where is it?

horsesforcourses1 · 27/03/2012 19:50

Err why would I lie? She showed us the photos and was all busy asking everyone if they had any furniture. I was absolutely fuming. She was offered a flat first but turned it down and then was offered the house.

...And I am Marie of cunting Romania.

pictish · 27/03/2012 19:50

No.
If it is brand new, there must be a demand for three bedroom social housing in that area...for FAMILIES.

I don't believe this either.

PurpleRomanesco · 27/03/2012 19:51

It's located

24 Unicorn Court
Lollypop Lane
Candy Land

thepeoplesprincess · 27/03/2012 19:51

And also, the council don't build new houses, and haven't done for quite some time.

usualsuspect · 27/03/2012 19:51

The bloke up the road his cousin got a mansion with a swimming pool from the council, true fact

ChaosTrulyReigns · 27/03/2012 19:52

Oh I love friend of friend tales.

Do tell more.

Smile
pictish · 27/03/2012 19:53

They did here....because there was a severe lack of three bed properties.
Two familes I know, with mum and dad and three kids apiece had both been crammed into 2 beds for years...both those families were relocated into the new ones when they were finished. That is why they were built.

ifancyashandy · 27/03/2012 19:53

If it's true, then there are reasons that you are unaware of that make her deserving of this.

People do not get housing willynilly.

HTH

PurpleRomanesco · 27/03/2012 19:53

Sounds like my ugly uncle Ned usual. The council actually pay HIM to stay to stay in his mansion.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 27/03/2012 19:54

Oh usual, we must have mutual friends of friends.

I heard about him as well.

piratecat · 27/03/2012 19:54

they do build new ones, if op means Housing association, which is what local authority properties are called.

horsesforcourses1 · 27/03/2012 19:54

Well that?s exactly the point, I can?t believe it either. It?s in Peterborough. Why would she lie about it?

OP posts:
catgirl1976 · 27/03/2012 19:54

I got a helicopter you know. Just for having a baby. I'd have got 2 if I was forrin

HillyWallaby · 27/03/2012 19:56

Stop slitting hairs. When people say 'council house' these days they usually mean housing association house or just a house paid for by the state. People often do not know the difference. It's irrelevent.

Anyway, if it's true then someone need their arse kicking. Ridiculous.

Ineedacleaneriamalazyslattern · 27/03/2012 19:57

Our council and I mean council not housing association have been building recently and have just finished allocating a whole area of them and are almost finished the next phase.
