To ask other mums on MN not to use the F word?

I am a newbie. I find that F word is peppered in a lot of the threads. I used to swear a lot but I have stopped completely because I realize it's common, and makes a woman sound undignified. Is it too much, ladies, to ask you not to use F-ing thsi and F-ing that? Can't we adults discuss things without resorting to sailor language? Thank you.

I've got a picture that I really want to upload to this thread but I don't know how to fucking do it. The op will fucking love it.

Swearing is unnecessary, and I don't do it much in RL or on here. But this thread makes me want to go

FUCK FUCK FUCK CUNT FUCK

just because I can.

Phew. Thanks for helping me get that one off my chest.

Tee2072 · 13/03/2012 09:50

::mutters:: Sorry for the children..AHA!

BINGO!!!!

herethereandeverywhere · 13/03/2012 09:51

I'm personally far more offended by referring to certain members of society as "common" and of the notion that as a woman "the fairer sex" I'm only to partake in delicate flower-like language and certainly not use words that only a tough and manly sailor would use.

Fuck that.

Kewcumber · 13/03/2012 09:51

I must be common as I say "pardon" and have taught my DS to say so too which I gather is an unpardonable sin of the commonest degree.

I revel in my common-ness it confuses people - single mother on benefits who doesn;t know who the father of her child is... with a posh accent a degree and a professional qualification. I like watching peoples heads explode as they try to work it out.

Must ask black lesbian mother is she is into rigging.

ScrambledSmegs · 13/03/2012 09:51

The site is quite clearly "by parents for parents - this doesn't mean just mothers. And quite frankly, if someone isn't a parent either, what's the problem with that?

Vivi, fucking charmed, I fucking tell ya!

Anyone got any sailor language they can share? And in fact, what exactly IS 'sailor language'?

catgirl1976 · 13/03/2012 09:55

Kew you know pardon is far worse than fuck :)

Jilly said so, so it must be true :)

You best check with the OP - she can let us all know where we stand socially apparantly :)

It's comfuckingpulsory.

Innit.

DucketyDuckDuck · 13/03/2012 09:56

Fantastic thread. Amused me this morning.

I am a MN swearing virgin - bit scared I will be swooped down on. (Irrational fear)

Today I want to pop my cherry so to speak.

So Fuck Off and Get a Life OP.

CherryBlossom27 · 13/03/2012 09:56

I have to own up...I was a bit shocked how much swearing is on mumsnet at first...but its actually quite funny and this thread has cheered up an otherwise dreary morning!

Kayzr · 13/03/2012 09:56

Am I allowed to fucking swear? I am a Mum but I am marrying a sailor. Surely that makes me part fucking sailor?

Our DD will be born fucking swearing!!
