thegreylady · 09/03/2012 20:39

Love it! I got the same email but didn't have the wait to send an appropriate response. Just a thought-I hope DD doesn't get it and decide her mum needs 'something different!

WorraLiberty · 09/03/2012 20:40

Never heard of Jo Browns

I was thinking Jo Brand for some reason and wondering why the fuck she would want your Mum to do a bungee jump.

OriginalJamie · 09/03/2012 20:40

www.joebrowns.co.uk/sp+Adrenaline-Adventure-Bungee-Jump+ACT207

Never heard of it before but just googled. So, errr, a fashion clothing and adrenaline adventure website? Unusual combi for a business, but there you go.

OriginalJamie · 09/03/2012 20:45

I will never be convinced that bungee jumping is a Good Thing. Has anyone actually researched the effect of hurtling head down and then bounding up again? Organs were not meant to be subjected to that

StealthPolarBear · 09/03/2012 20:46

What's the chance they reply with "got anything for your mother in law yet?"

StealthPolarBear · 09/03/2012 20:47

My mum who has done parachute jumps says the same Jamie. I agree with her

That's what I told the church pianist

CornishKK · 09/03/2012 20:47

I was very tempted to reply to the NOTHS Mother's Day marketing campaign on Facebook - the let us find the perfect present for your Mum thing.

Dear NOTHS

Although I'm sure your floral, embroidered, personalised tote bag would make a perfect Mother's Day gift for someone, there's not a lot of call for them beyond the grave.

That also applies to you Hotel Du Chocolat and your constant gift suggestions.

Love
Cornish (bad tempered, middle aged orphan)

Treat her to a bungee jump. WTAF? They have lost their marketing minds.

countessbabycham · 09/03/2012 22:10

I like Joe Browns.

I have been known to indulge in bungee-jumping.

But I'm not sure my dear Mum would feel particularly 'treated' with her dodgy ticker.
And I reckon her slippers would fall off....

Sorry about your Mum custy.

Yes, have had a few of these emails too. Most have been advertising goods or services that my mum would actually like.

Bungee jumping. Not so much.

Good email, Custy. I would love to see the expression on the face of the office junior who opened that email.

Teaandcakeplease · 09/03/2012 22:18

Brilliant response.

When is Mothers day? As lone parent it does pass me by, with me oblivious. Unless something comes back in DD's school bag this year as she's in Reception now.
