To ask for a Nobdies Section

QuaaludesAndRedWine · 04/03/2012 18:16

Sorry but Nobdies really isn't for me - I don't get it at all. I am a nobody and I still have trouble understanding the threads. No offence meant but I would like to see a section rather than the posts in chat so I can hide it.

OP posts:
faeriemoo · 04/03/2012 18:17

What is Nobdies?

gordyslovesheep · 04/03/2012 18:19

knob dies ???????

Magna · 04/03/2012 18:20

Hide the thread then

BoysInCoatheads · 04/03/2012 18:21

A whole topic just for us? Ace.

Not bad, could do with some beanbags though.

EirikurNoromaour · 04/03/2012 18:21

YABU
Just click on the threads and hide them if they annoy you. There are dozens of quiches on mumsnet and they live where they live. New members are usually welcome so a dedicated topic would be shit.

GoosDoorIsAlwaysOpen · 04/03/2012 18:22

So the site should be re-arranged for you, because you are not interested in one thread, and you poor finger is too tired to click the hide button?

Awwwww, your poor poor finger :( Have you tried a little finger exercise?

BoysInCoatheads · 04/03/2012 18:22

Btw, I'm sure there's plenty of threads that 'aren't for you'. Do they need there own topic too?

lesley33 · 04/03/2012 18:22

There are periodically threads about who is your favourite mums netter. It is always people named who post lots and lots. Someone once started a thread about nobodys who are never named on these threads but misspelt it in the title. Since then there are periodically threads for nobdies who never get a mention i.e. virtually everyone here, to come and share.

lesley33 · 04/03/2012 18:23

Oh come on...don't flame her for this!

EndoplasmicReticulum · 04/03/2012 18:23

Isn't there a general quiche section? I always assumed there was.

AMumInScotland · 04/03/2012 18:24

But there's only one thread at a time, same as lots of other chat threads surely? It hardly needs a whole section Hmm

blushingcrow · 04/03/2012 18:25

Just hide the threads, why would they bother you ?

Lesley I think the op expected a flaming hence last comment

gordyslovesheep · 04/03/2012 18:26

thanks!

FilterCoffee · 04/03/2012 18:27

YANBU.

I have no problem at all with Nobdies or any of the other groups of friends on MN, and no objections whatsoever to their threads.

But for everyone's benefit I think there should be a Quiches section of Talk, so newbies (and not-so-newbies) don't innocently blunder into their threads in Chat and get ignored on the more cliquey ones.

They'll all find each other more easily too and the rest of us can get on with threads which are aimed at everyone :)

Either that, or if they claim not to be cliques, could they put clearly in the OP that Everyone Is Welcome, Please Join In? :)

FilterCoffee · 04/03/2012 18:29

"They can be Hidden if you prefer not to see them."

But they keep reappearing though :o Shouldn't the default be to not have to keep hiding them?

I personally think a section for threads from general whinger's really should be put in place.
Really an anti-Nobdie thread every month is boring and a yawn fest!
Why don't all of you who hate the Nobdie threads and the other quiche threads make your own quiche about how you all hate quiche threads so much.
Then you can all whinge together.

:)

EirikurNoromaour · 04/03/2012 18:32

You could say that about lots of threads though

Can we have a 'benefits bashing' topic

A parking topic

Lots of threads annoy me by their presence but I just ignore or hide. Quiches don't want a quiche topic as most want to welcome new members. I post on a quiche thread and we often get lurkers posting because they share an interest with us, hence why we are in the relevant section, not hidden away

OlaRapaceFru · 04/03/2012 18:32

I've never been a Nobdie - although I probably am a nobody.
I rarely have a look/lurk on their threads.
But, hey ho - they're having fun, as are the other quiches.
And I don't think it matters where they put their threads.

BoysInCoatheads · 04/03/2012 18:38

Nobdies are very welcoming though. Elusive yet inclusive is our motto!
