to be cross theme park have lowered the free entry height limit?

I know they are a business and it needs to make money but....

we bought 3 x melin passes last year so we could go regularly.to the parks zoo and theme park it worked.out a cheap day out now they have lowered height limit from 1m to 90cm we will have to pay full price.for the twins if we want to use our passes ;-(

They charge the same for.children over 90cm up to age 11 my small 3 year olds don't go on.any rides and I.can't justify the cost to.take them in for a few hours. My neice is a tall 2,yr old and will have to pay to go as well.

I know they can do as they please but we wouldn't have bought the passes if we had known we wouldn't be able to use them ;-( we have no one who would have the twins while we take dd

It used to always be you paid for over threes anyway, so you would have been paying for them as soon as they turned three under the old system. Wait until your oldest turns 12 and is considered an adult on flights, theme parks etc!

Coffeedog yes it would annoy me - a 90cm child will be unable to go on many rides.

It is annoying but not an awful lot you can do about it.

Do they really not go on ANY rides? Thought most theme parks had some rides for smaller children. We have been to a few and even though we do not have to pay for my just under 2 year old there are a few little rides that she can go on.

Yes which one is it? We have passes for chessington but dd1 was under the height limit of 1m. They expire in a couple of months and we should have got a few more trips in before she reached the limit. I'll be really pissed off if they've brought the limit down.

I am in a niggly mood - might have something to do with it being the last day of the holidays Smile!

But the op did say that she brought the passes last year; what if the kids had a growth spurt and were know taller than the old height restriction?

Bastards. Just checked Chessington site Angry. She goes on about 2 of the rides as well. The others are too big.

Cant you stick them in a pushchair before you go in the entrance? Children look smaller when sitting down

Yes, it's annoying but surely there will be some rides they can go on if they are over 90cm. We went to Butlins last year and dd2, aged 3, was bang on the 90cm so there were a good few rides she could go on at Butlins and also at Fantasy Island.

DD1 is tall so we had to pay for her when she was 3.4 at Chessington [anger]

She did go on a lot of rides though so shouldn't complain.

And even 4 month old dd2 went on the bubbleworks!

They take them out and measure them. £30 for her to go on the carousel and the poxy bubbleworks... So either that or we lose three months of our passes.

If they have reduced the height limit on rides to match the reduced height limit for free entry, Yabu. If the ride height limits are still the same at 1m, then Yanbu as they are expecting you to pay the same for kids who can't use most of the rides as for those who are tall enough!

I'm not sure. They put some of the limits up last year. Rides that my 9yo niece had gone on the year before she was too short for this year :o

My 5 year old couldn't get her head around the fact she could go ona ride at 4 but at 5 she was now to small ;)

They get the children out of buggys to measure them.....even if they are asleep or prentending There are ALOT of shoeless kids at the main gates even for the zoo days ;)

Coffeedog - unless I've misread you post, not sure how your dd could go on a ride before but not now, surely if they've lowered the height limit she can go on more?

In terms of twins, how far above 90 are they? Anyway you can make them look less? ( no shoes/hair down?)

Tiny Truckers
skytrain
Mr Toads cars
the ferris wheel
bubbleworks
flying elephants
possibly the berry bouncers, but that may have a height limit

am sure there is a couple more too. mine used to go on about 7 or 8 rides when they were toddlers (and not particularly tall ones!)

ah, just red on a bit - have they changed all the height limits? bugger. littlest was just growing into a few more rides. will have to research.
