Can you top up online just with the premises number?

(If it's like the old electric card I used to have)

The number won't change, even if they changed the meter.

Oh Elsie I am so sorry to hear of your loss Sad heartless gits, is it the same company?

He has just been, and we are sooo grateful, now to get this house heated again. A huge thanks to the man that was self employed and didn't have to come, he said he would have felt guilty leaving a baby in the cold, so if anyone knows this lovely man, we really cannot thank him enough Smile. He travelled all the way from east London to bedfordshire, what a star.

Thanks to all of you for your kind messages in our hours of need Smile

Thank goodness for the kindness of that man, but I'd still be sending a strongly worded letter.

ShineYourButtonsWithBrasso · 05/02/2012 14:14

Oh glad to hear you are now getting some warmth, our boiler broke on christmas day 3 years ago. I called a private local firlm and explained that I had 3 children and one was only 6 weeks old.

He came straight over Smile

Elsie so sorry to hear pf such shit customer service, what company is it?

Teaandcakeplease · 05/02/2012 15:15

We're without heating too. Yesterday we were without hot water too, so we decamped elsewhere for the night. Now, we have four oil filled electric radiators going full blast, the log wood burner going in the sitting room and we have a limited amount of hot water and so we're staying in the house tonight.

It's still cold though Sad Can't wait until tomorrow when we hopefully get it fixed. It's also a pain as the children just want to play outside where they get colder and wetter...

DD2 is curled up on the sofa next to me, wrapped in a blanket, and she's fallen asleep :-)

Best of luck for getting it sorted asap. In the meantime, blankets and snuggles really do make things better!

Tiredmumno1 · 05/02/2012 16:08

Twopinkshoes, I am sorry to hear that, I know what you are going through and I never want to go through that again. I hope you are trying to keep warm, I know it's easier said than done.

Glad it is sorted now :)

Our boiler broke the first year we were in this house while dh was away on a work trip to a 5 star hotel - I was NOT happy!

Tiredmumno1 · 06/02/2012 15:16

Thanks Valium Smile

We are in the process of seeing what they are going to do for us now, so let's see what they sort out, I shall report back.

UPDATE:

Southern electric have now sorted it with compo, and will refund for the heater without seeing the receipt, how nice. We have now calmed down with them as their manager just bent over backwards to help us, they are also putting the original meters back in woo hoo.

They had already messed up as they were sending our bills to the old address, we kept chasing them but nothing was ever done, however we found out today that a letter had been sent to our old address asking if we still lived there, and whoever is there now said we were Shock so that's why they thought we were in debt with them as well, what a palaver, I wonder who I talk to about the people at the old address for trying to use out names Hmm

So to finish southern electric have pulled through for us, and we are very very grateful, thanks SE

Teaandcakeplease · 07/02/2012 18:53

Cheeky blighters trying to avoid paying their bill by saying you were still there Shock That is outrageous.

Tiredmumno1 · 07/02/2012 21:55

I know tea, I will let you know what happens with that side of things, I was thinking about having a word with the police, surely you can't just go round pretending to be someone else

OP posts:
Teaandcakeplease · 07/02/2012 22:21

Yes it's fraud isn't it? Angry

Tiredmumno1 · 07/02/2012 22:36

Well that's what I thought tea, there are some awful people around, it's so dishonest I cannot believe someone would actually do that.
