Why do people think it smells good? It smells like you've sprayed chemicals all over yourself....

If you insist in dousing yourself and your clothes with it, please keep a decent distance away from me in the supermarket. don't follow me around wafting your manky unclean chemical covered clothes at me.

Serves me right for going to a different supermarket to usual I suppose.

People use Febreze on their clothes?

Grim.

YANBU

Ilovedaintynuts · 03/02/2012 12:50

I'm not familiar with this phenomena but it doesn't sound good.

ReallyTired · 03/02/2012 12:52

I only used Febreze when dd has weed on the carpet and I have extensive sponged it first with warm soapy water. I have never sprayed it clothes.

Whitershadeofpale · 03/02/2012 12:55

Blush I've done this. Only on my coat though. Sometimes my DB will start frying food late at night and not close the kitchen door. So when I get up for work and put put on my coat it smells of grease. I think febreze smells better than drowning the smell with perfume.

NeldaAufwader · 03/02/2012 13:14

Coats I sort of understand, but if people are spraying into armpits and crotch areas of clothes, t-shirts, jeans etc. to get another wear out of them...

coraltoes · 03/02/2012 13:16

She the hell were you shopping?! Pls don't say waitrose. Febreeze does not mingle well with hummus and Sancerre.

LizaTarbucksAuntie · 03/02/2012 13:17

sorry to say it didn't look like it had been done to 'freshen up' a coat, it was pretty ingrained.

I thought it was more for use on carpets...tis a hideous smell though.

you'll all be on the sniff for it now though right?

Febreeze mings mightily. It smells of chemical unclean, you're so right. I think that smell-association your brain does (the one that makes baby wipes smell faintly of shit) has made Febreze smell of unwashed crotch, faggy old furniture and musty chemicals to me forever.

sheepgomeep · 03/02/2012 13:43

dont persil (or some washing powder) have febreeze added to it as one of their flavours? Maybe its that you can smell

yes you are right though its horrible

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/02/2012 14:15

I used Neutrogel in my car after I gave a 'lift' to a little cat that I saw knocked over by a car.
On the way to vets it died and voided it's bladder Sad

Smell association now Neutrogel= tom cat wee.

I febreeze my teen sons bedroom. the carpet the curtains , even one mattress. because they stink.

am grateful they wash every morning, but they are filthy creatures.

i love them dearly, but when i venture in to their bedrooms i wear gloves, and arm myself with anti bac wipes, febreeze and large rubbish bag. its all very grim....

I use it if people turn up unannounced, no idea why as my house isn't smelly... I prefer jos sticks but one mum told everyone in school I was a hippy. Maybe I am, but I'm a bit too aggressive.

Weird that people spray it on themselves though, if they washed and used deodarant they wouldn't need to. To REEK of it, sends the message to me they are otherwise gopping.

Like a man I used to know, he smelled so nice when I met him, but I soon discovered the pattouilli (sp) oil was to mask the cheesewaft.

molly3478 · 03/02/2012 17:10

I spray my clothes and my stuff with febreeze because it smells nicer than the smell of damp so yabu.

Molly - sorry but why do your clothes smell damp? can't you get them dry?

My point was that fabreeze isn't the same and clean and you've sort of just proved that..

usualsuspect · 03/02/2012 20:01

Do you always sniff random people?

LizaTarbucksAuntie · 03/02/2012 20:03

no, was definitely not sniffing on purpose more being overcome by wafting...

ChildofIsis · 03/02/2012 20:04

Febreeze is the devil's work!

TheCountessOlenska · 03/02/2012 20:07

I always think it's main use is to cover up fag smoke smells - and it's pretty good at that.

When I was a smoker I used it on my clothes occasionally Blush. I was gopping - now non-smoker and smell bee-u-ti-full

TheMonster · 03/02/2012 20:08

urgh. gross.
