Who is overreacting here?

Bit of background - couple have only spent one night together.

Person A says: I love you. I love you more than words can say. I've loved you from the start.

Person B says: Why the hell have you got to treat me this way? You wouldn't do this if you knew what love is. Leave right now and close the door.

Is it just me, or is B overreacting to A telling him she loves him? Shouldn't he just have said 'ah, right, okay, I don't feel the same way, sorry?'

More background: DCs prefer Heart to Radio4 on the school run. [Grin]

-Plan- Person B is being sensible.

thepeoplesprincess · 08/01/2012 11:56

damn. need to work out how to do this

Kayano · 08/01/2012 11:56

I might actually plump for person A

B sounds like he is over reacting but
Is prob just freaked the f out lol

Kayano · 08/01/2012 11:57

What IS this btw? Lol

culturemulcher · 08/01/2012 11:57

I think taking the whole thing to court princess is going a bit far, though, don't you?

Kayano · 08/01/2012 12:01

Plan B?

Yabu for listening to that shite :)

culturemulcher · 08/01/2012 12:10

I agree winkly but in my defence, it's the DC not me. I just can't take any more of this 'she said' 'he said' rubbish, so thought I'd put it to the MN jury.

I think he's being very ungallant. Is that a word?

Oh, I just got it
How embarrassing

culturemulcher · 08/01/2012 12:14

Actually Kayano I think that's a good sign.

Person B is right IMO, person A sounds in love with love and it is insulting when those kinds of people say they love you because they are in love with the idea of you as if getting to know what really makes you tick as a partner isn't important! - I think go latch onto someone else I can do better, i.e. someone who can fall in love with the reality of me!

"Person A could feel like that about someone else next week"
exactly! why should person B fall for it when she'll have a new love of her life next week. I love you is not a compliment at all from the person As of this world!

Its really a kick in the teeth, you think someone might like YOU then they come out with that and you realise you were just another love fix! could have been anyone IYKWIM

DitaVonCheese · 08/01/2012 13:33

I wasn't under the impression that they'd spent a night together, I thought A was just a fan.

The "wouldn't do this if you knew what love is" surely applies to the false rape accusations that you've conveniently left out of your OP Hmm

mayorquimby · 08/01/2012 15:35

She just feels neglected.

EllenandBump · 08/01/2012 15:49

Who said person A was female, it could be a male (probably wanting more you know what). Sounds a bit stupid to me. I only love my son and mum and to a MUCH lesser extent my sister.... I suppose.

mayorquimby · 08/01/2012 15:51

nah, sounds like she had her heart broken by somebody she's obsessed with.

ViviPru · 08/01/2012 15:54

I can relate much more to "Recluse". I much don't like leaving the house either, Ben.

culturemulcher · 08/01/2012 17:24

Oh come on, you hard-hearted old wingers.

Have you never felt love at first sight?

Have you never slept with someone and felt 'Yup! He floats my boat?'

Then you inadvertently blurt out 'I love you' only to be told be asked 'why the hell are you treating him this way'?

It's not as if she killed his puppy or told him his sister looks like the back end of a bus, now is it?

Dita I'm not buying the false rape allegation. I think that's a cooked up charge.

Can't believe I'm discussing such a god-awful song
