Who is overreacting here?

Bit of background - couple have only spent one night together.

Person A says: I love you. I love you more than words can say. I've loved you from the start.

Person B says: Why the hell have you got to treat me this way? You wouldn't do this if you knew what love is. Leave right now and close the door.

Is it just me, or is B overreacting to A telling him she loves him? Shouldn't he just have said 'ah, right, okay, I don't feel the same way, sorry?'

More background: DCs prefer Heart to Radio4 on the school run. [Grin]

Obsessed fan shagged him and when she realised she was nothing but a one night stand to the cheating rat, she went to the police and said he'd raped her.

When you think about it, it's really not a nice song at all.

If you want to get really serious about it, it's not a helpful song when you think about low convictions for rape and all that, and all the shit that rape victims go through in court and how they are accused of making it up, etc etc.

I know, it's a lighthearted thread and I'm pissing all over it. Sorry.

Nope, a very fair point Hecate. I hadn't really looked at the obsessed fan lyrics, just what I could decipher from the endlessly repeated chorus.

Tis Plan B

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit · 08/01/2012 18:40

What's the song? [Out of touch emote]

KatieScarlett2833 · 08/01/2012 18:42

Think it's called "She Said"

Sausagesarenottheonlyfruit · 08/01/2012 18:42

"Have you never felt love at first sight?"

no

and the people I've known for years who claim they knew their now wife/husband (usually wife actually its usually men) was the one the second they saw them were in love with every woman (usually) they dated from the first date prior to the one that proved them right about love at first sight Hmm

ReduceRecycleRegift · 09/01/2012 00:11

and I tend to feel a bit sorry for the partner who finally falls for it, because everyone who knows their other half knows that he (usually) would be in love with another "one" within about 2 weeks if she ever dumped him, and she was just in the right place at the right time for him to latch onto

ReduceRecycleRegift · 09/01/2012 00:13

2 months that meant to say, the first two weeks usually involve very dramatic grieving over the deepest love afair ever to happen... then one day a couple of weeks later you're introduced to the new one

ReindeerBollocks · 09/01/2012 00:25

Thought person A was obsessed to the point of making malicious allegations against B?

Thats what I always got from that song.

culturemulcher · 09/01/2012 12:26

Reindeer you're right. I hadn't checked out the lyrics properly. I was just fed up of hearing that god awful unbelievably catchy chorus.

Reduce this wasn't meant to be serious, you know Hmm. You do have a fantastic name, though Grin
