To be really pissed off about this year's 'Celebrity' Big Brother

I know it's been said before and by people more elequent than me, and I know it makes me sound like a ranting Daily Mail reader, but I was so annoyed when I saw the line up for this pile of crap in the paper this morning.

It just seems so wrong that at a time when many of us are really struggling, there are people being paid to appear on TV because they are 'famous' for cheating on their partner, doing drugs and having no talent or taking their clothes off and appearing on other similarly rubbish shows.

I know I don't have to watch it but just because I don't doesn't mean it isn't happening and I find that really, really depressing. True, there are a lot of worse things happening in the world but for some reason this has really wound me up today - am I the only one?

Doesn't particularly wind me up. I didn't watch it. I probably won't watch it. If people do watch it and it entertains them then that's not my business. YANBU to be irritated if it irritates you but YABU to concentrate too much on something you really cannot change.

I loathe Natasha Giggs but have to admire her balls for going on the show. Can't stand the TOWIE/XFACTOR bunch.

A recording I was watching finished and I found myself watching the start of this year's CBB, just as all the "Celebs" were arriving. I had absolutely no idea who any of them were. So I turned the telly off, which is a guaranteed remedy for this sort of thing.

Won't be watching either, don't know who they are except for Natelie, Denise and Gareth. The rest are non celebs in my mind, and are only there for viewing figures.

Will not be watching! Goes without saying really!

More annoyed that out of the women, only two are known for something other than taking their clothes off / having affairs.

Still, what do I expect from a channel owned by a pornographer.

Won?t be watching, never do, well actually I only watched half the first one as I thought it might be an interesting social experiment type thingie .

I?m more fed up that every time I pick up a paper (though rare these days, turn on certain radio station they?re be lots of chat about it) and been treated as odd because I have totally no interest in it at all

Must have been this time last year I was in the hairdressers and the new apprentice was washing my hair.
So what did you think of last night?s Big Brother?
Me: Sorry don?t watch it
Oh did you see X factor (or whatever one was on)
Me: No sorry I don?t watch a lot of TV
Oh me neither, I only watch Big Brother/ X factor/ Eastenders/ (and I can?t remember what else she said two or three other soaps)
Me: No I don?t watch soaps, sorry

Realllllllyyyyyy but what do you do????

Me: I read/ internet etc.
But what TV shows do you have on when you do that?

Bless. (She?s still there and refers to me, in a loud whisper, as the lady who DOESN?T WATCH TV!!)

Even my teenager switched over. Some of her friends will watch it because they like Romeo, but it realy has ran its course.

It's crap telly OP, you are meant to be disappointed and pissed, that goes with the territory! Don't watch it if it pisses you off

YAB a bit U to be pissed off about it because if you just didn't pay any attention to it at all (I didn't even know it was on) then it wouldn't piss you off.

YANBU but that's reality TV for you. Relies on creating celebrity where none exists because genuinely famous or talented people wouldn't be seen dead ballroom dancing, ice-skating, eating cockroaches in a jungle or being closeted in a house where you can't take a piss without everyone watching. When the production companies have scraped the barrel and there's no-one left, they then pull nobodies off the street, poke cameras at them until they do something silly and then announce to the world that they are a new celebrity.

Fascinating but irrelevant. Read a book instead.

most years on cbb have nobidies and wannabees in it we just forget there is always some obscure actor or booby model or a media celeb usually somebody who has had an affair , sven thingys mistress was in it a few years ago , its not really a new thing and with a sprinkle of familiar faces , so no not dissapointed really although frankie from exfactor BOAK

His hair is like bird's nest and not in a good way! He does have an air of griminess about him. I want to grab him and attack him with a hot flannel - like I do with my ten year old - the difference afterwards is amazing!

Who are any of them?

From what I can gather, the only people who go on these shows are people who are at the end of their "careers" (and I use the term loosely) and are after that last little bit of fame before resigning themselves to the fact they are actually nobodies after all.

I have no idea why anyone watches it, or Big brother for that matter - it's not remotely entertaining.

I don't watch it, never have, and I foresee a twitter cull coming up as many of the people I follow seem to spend hours tweeting about it..

Oh FFS, get over it. supply and demand baby, people watch this shit. people pay for advertsing. Look on the bright sde, it creates employment and stimulates the economy
