Waybuloo versus Abney and Teal

To feel that the all saucer eyed homunculi and nara bugs of Waybuloo have less warmth and worth than even the smallest poc poc of Abney and Teal ?
The choice is between a saccharin infused computer generated phantasmagoria OR "living in the park on an island". God I love islands! Unfortunately my small girl likes both.....

Erm... they're both shite.

Love the word 'phantasmagoria' though.

MardyBra · 05/01/2012 13:37

I have not idea what you are talking about. Therefore YABU.

BleurghUna · 05/01/2012 13:37

Abney and Teal all the way! Reminds me of the Clangers - can't think why. The DCs love it too, they fall about laughing. Waybuloo just gets on my nerves.

mistressploppy · 05/01/2012 13:37

Totally with you. YANBU.

DS (2.2) gets bored with Waybuloo after 4 mins but will watch all of Abney and Teal. And we get a lot of 'Neeeep! What's Neep doin' mummy? Where's Neep? Neeeeep!' at random intervals throughout the day Grin

CurlyBoy · 05/01/2012 13:39

Waybuloo is banned from our telly. I can't stand it!

rooksby · 05/01/2012 13:48

I despise Waybuloo. The hateful saccharine faux-baby talk, argh! The pan pipes! RAGE. Like Abney and Teal though, I feel an affinity with Bop.

BleurghUna · 05/01/2012 13:49

Mistressploppy Yes, we have a lot of neep neep neep in our household too Grin Nw I know what it means!

GwennieF · 05/01/2012 13:51

Abney and Teal all the way! Thet even make me hungry for porridge......

SootySweepandSue · 05/01/2012 13:53

Abney & Teal is watching paint dry for my daughter. I mean it's like the TV is not even on. For this I give it nul points.

Waybuloo gets pointing, screaming, laughing and dancing! I therefore give it dix points.

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 05/01/2012 13:53

I hate Waybuloo but DD loves it. I think it's the giant creepy eyes.

Abney & Teal is super hipster though.

BleurghUna · 05/01/2012 13:56

Oh and Abney and Teal is what persuaded my fussy DD to try porridge, which she now loves!

FrankiDon182 · 05/01/2012 14:23

Waybuloo all the way, i have a soft spot for yojojo ! My son loves doing yogo :)
Abney & Teal is by far the most boring childrens programme i know of! Big thunbs down from my house!

lynlynnicebutdim · 05/01/2012 14:38

i dont think i can explain why i dislike Abney & Teal as much as i do. i think it reminds me of the suburb we used to live in in London and all its hipster doofus inhabitants. its irrational i know. but i do quite like the poc pocs and Neep

DD (20 months) on the other hand loves Abney & Teal and talks about Neep quite a bit. Waybaloo is much loved by her as well. She loves trying to do the yogo and playing peeka with the piplings.

I find Waybaloo less objectionable than Abney & Teal.

FetchezLaVache · 05/01/2012 15:13

Can't stand either of them, but DS loves them.

I really expected to love A&T on the basis of the trailers, but I just find it quite random and pointless, really.

TroublesomeEx · 05/01/2012 17:25

I HATE WAYBULOO.

DressingGownQueen · 05/01/2012 17:38

God I hate waybuloo. The way all the female charachters are so giggly and useless really pisses me off.

Tolalola · 05/01/2012 17:49

Waybuloo is horrendous, so bloody fey and cute. The telly goes off here as soon as it comes on.

Abney and Teal is much more fun, and quite like I imagine life must be for a pre-schooler. Some fun, some random, lots of imagination, a few comforting touchstones.

bigkidsdidit · 05/01/2012 18:03

I hate Waybuloo but DS is OBSESSED with it. He stand by the telly and jams his face by the screen. It's 20 minutes for me to get sorted before bath so for that reason it's bearable!

I hate that the girl characters are so helpless all the time.

I love Neep!

FutureNannyOgg · 05/01/2012 18:09

Abney and Teal is quite charming, but I do also quite like Waybuloo, if only for watching DS trying to join in the yogo.

himynameisfred · 05/01/2012 18:12

My sons have gone through their In The Night Garden and Waybuloo obsessions.
Abney and Teal is a winnder right now.
I think they enjoy how relaxed it is :)

I find 'Justin's house' kind of irritating. Althought Something Special is still a hit with the kids.

himynameisfred · 05/01/2012 18:14

Oh my gosh, my sons has been requesting porridge quite a bit lately, which is great as it's cheap and nutricious.
I think that's Abney and Teal influence :)

Shelly32 · 05/01/2012 18:16

My girls love both and try out the Yogo but I prefer Abney and Teal..plus it got my DD really into eating porridge! I feel sad when i watch Abney and Teal as they're clearly little toys that have been lost at the park and gathered together to fend for themselves. I lost a toy when a child and i hope it's living somewhere nice like that..hopefully nowhere near a farting walrus though!

SuePurblybilt · 05/01/2012 18:17

Waybaloo is purest evil. WTF is the point of all the madey-uppy words? If they can say yogo, they can say yoga. You know - the actual word.

I like A&T. I like the walnut-veneer chocolate drops and the hairy thing.

MrsChemist · 05/01/2012 18:18

Waybuloo is on now. I am BFing DS and have no idea where the remote is.

The Rage is rising.
