oh I am so sorry. I can't offer any ideas for the pain I'm afraid but you can feed your daughter in her swing if its a bottle, then sit down to wind her and then let her play on a mat until your DP gets up maybe?

PaintYouFestive · 23/12/2011 08:19

neednewname, i can barely move with this pain let alone get to the docs.

Ok - stop feeling you're doing a bad mum job!

Now - is it time for your period? Is that definately what it is? Have you taken any painkillers - if so what and what else do you have in the house?

Have you got a hot water bottle? If you dont have one get a water bottle or one of baby's bottles, fill with hot water and wrap in a tea towel or two. Hold this close to your side and just sit and breathe in and out very steadily for a minute or two, try and get your muscles to relax.

Phone your doctor and ask for advice.

catsmother · 23/12/2011 08:21

Call NHS Direct 0845 4647 ..... and shout for your DP to come help you and/or baby ..... if you're in agony so what if he's been up all night ?

ZacharyQuack · 23/12/2011 08:21

Paint, is there any possibility at all that you could be pregnant?

catsmother · 23/12/2011 08:21

If you're that bad you can't move definitely get DP up.

giraffesCantDanceAtXmasParties · 23/12/2011 08:22

If you are so bad that you cannot move then shout for him to come down.

And call NHS

Northernlurker · 23/12/2011 08:24

Actually I had a pain like this once. Dd2 was a few moths too - maybe three? In the end dh took me to A&E. They did pregnancy test - negative, urine dip etc all without result and said that quite a lot of abdominal pain is otherwise unexplained. We got some gut relaxant type tablet from over the counter as they said it was worth a try and gradually over thenext few hours it receded. I'd forgotten all about it till you said now because honestly I could barely move. It does need to be medically checked though - lots of nasty things it could be but most likely isn't - better to be safe though. Lets try and get the bottle done and then maybe you can ring the docs and get an appointment for later?

RobynLou · 23/12/2011 08:24

Is there any possibility you could be pg?
women have come on here before with pain like this and it's turned out to be an ectopic pg. If it ruptures it's life threatening, I'd go to a&e asap and not leave till they scan you.

giraffesCantDanceAtXmasParties · 23/12/2011 08:24

sorry thread moved on! If it that bad you cant physically move get oh up and phone dr.

BertieBotts · 23/12/2011 08:25

No, what Zachary means is have you been sexually active in the last few weeks? If you're in serious pain on one side and you're bleeding that is a symptom of ectopic pregnancy.

MmeReindor · 23/12/2011 08:25

Paintyour
Coudl you be pregnant though? Discount your period.

Have you had unprotected sex since your last period? How regular are you?

RobynLou · 23/12/2011 08:26

x-posted. I'd still go to the hospital if the pain is that bad.
