I don't want to frighten you but if you are in such agony I am worried about ectopic pg?
You mention that it is your period but you can still get bleeding with ectopic.
Please see dr.

PaintYouFestive · 23/12/2011 08:28

Yes i have had sex couple of weeks ago, but dp never finished but was 5 days late for this period have been quite reg since i had dd

Just because you have started a period does not mean that this pain is related to that. A severe pain down one side could infer appendicitis and if is it that, you want to get it checked out asap because if your appendix bursts you are in real trouble.

Don't assume that this is period paid. Period pains are not usually confined to one side.

You have a lot of posters screaming at you to seek help and I can only second that. Get on the phone to NHS Direct and they will quickly assess you over the phone. If you need to get to the hospital they will make sure you do so. Your dh will just have to cope with the baby. Right now, your health is most important and if this pain is so bad that you cannot stand, then you need to act because our bodies are pretty good at shouting out when something is wrong and yours is screaming at you right now, don't ignore it.

RobynLou · 23/12/2011 08:29

just because he didn't finish doesn't mean you're not pg.
please go to a&e now.

KittyFane · 23/12/2011 08:29

Have you phoned for help OP?
It's guess the diagnosis on here.

Northernlurker · 23/12/2011 08:30

It's absolutely right that you need to be checked for ectopic prgenancy but lets just try and get you all in one piece so you can function for now and then get to a medical opinion. Have you any ibuprofen in the house? If so take that now. Have you done the hot water bottle?

felicitywits · 23/12/2011 08:31

Hope you have rung someone now OP?

A question from my own experience - did you have a vaginal delivery of a c-section? I have pains as you describe and it turned out to be adhesions following my EMCS.

PaintYouFestive · 23/12/2011 08:31

i just hobbled down the hallway dp is getting up

x posted with the DP sex post - ok time to wake him up. Crawl upstairs if you have to. Is his phone by the bed?

Northernlurker · 23/12/2011 08:32

x posted again! sorry Smile

Ok that's good. You need to get seen by a doctor this morning for reassurance.

RobinSparkles · 23/12/2011 08:33

X posted with quite a few people. Please be seen ASAP Op. hope you're ok.

MmeReindor · 23/12/2011 08:33

Go to A&E and tell them that you may be pregnant, and that you are having pain and bleeding.

Good luck.

needanewname · 23/12/2011 08:33

Paint - not rude at all, you're in pain. If its that bad even more important for you to seek help. Call you doctors or get dh up to take you, you can't carry on like this.

neverever · 23/12/2011 08:33

You need to get checked out op, how old is dd? Could be anything from an infection to appendicitis, hope u feel better soon.

Northernlurker · 23/12/2011 08:34

OP's dd is 25 weeks

RobynLou · 23/12/2011 08:35

there was a woman on here who was sent home from hospital with pains like this without being checked for ectopic, mn convinced her to go back and she did have one which was caught just in time.
please make sure they check properly for it.

Bunnyjo · 23/12/2011 08:50

To be honest, if your pain is really severe, I would bypass NHS Direct and probably head straight to A&E - obviously worst case scenario includes ectopic pregnancy or appendicitis, both of which can get rapidly worse and be life threatening.

Please, please get checked out ASAP and I hope it is nothing to worry about. Good luck.

SpaghettiTwirlerPrancerVixen · 23/12/2011 09:06

You need to get to a&e, a friend of mine suffered an ectopic pregnancy a couple of months ago and she had pain like you're describing and bleeding.

Pixieonthemoor · 23/12/2011 09:14

How are you OP? Hope you have got checked out just incase of appendicitis etc. After giving birth to my DS, I had utterly excruciating pain and apparently it is 'just' the uterus contracting and getting back into shape. I hope that is all it is for you although I can remember the terrifying pain - much worse than giving birth! Hope you are feeling better.

PaintYouFestive · 23/12/2011 15:17

Hi everyone thought I would let you know I am okay! The pain has eased off now, it is back to regular period pains now all over lower tummy like it normally is iyswim so have had a bit more parcetemol. I can move now etc. Thank you all for your concerns, it was just a particularly nasty bout unfortunetly centralised in that area.

OP posts:
MmeReindor · 23/12/2011 19:21

That is good to hear, Paint. Hope you have a quiet night and feel better tomorrow.

HattiFattner · 23/12/2011 19:31

Paint, this could also have been a kidney stone, which can be radiating pain.

Severe Pain from small of back, lasts a couple of hours, you cant get comfortable and paracetamol etc do not help.

Make sure you drink plenty and watch out for small stones passing when you wee.

RobinSparkles · 23/12/2011 22:02

Oh I'm so glad that you're ok paint! I was just popping in to check. Hope you have a lovely Christmas!
