£1 is all it would cost to buy a bag of food for the emanuels and my boyfriend reckons I shouldn't buy it if I'm complaining that I'm short of money.

AIBU to think £1 is well worth keeping them going through the winter?

For the what?

south345 · 19/12/2011 14:18

?

GandTiceandaSprout · 19/12/2011 14:19

Personally I keep all my Emanuels tied up in the shed & just let them out for a Christmas dinner of left over sprouts.
YABU.

serotoninbutterfly · 19/12/2011 14:20

Ummmm.... I'm sure I haven't been drinking/taking substances, but I have NO idea what you are talking about.

This isn't like a sneaky advert for something is it?

Selky · 19/12/2011 14:20

Who are the emanuels and should I be feeding them too?

Kayano · 19/12/2011 14:21

I was thinking 'has autocorrect changed the word homeless' ?

embarrassed

AFuckingFestiveKnackeredWoman · 19/12/2011 14:21

are the emanuels going to be a poor starving family somewhere and your going to give us a link telling us to donate?

Breadcake · 19/12/2011 14:23

YABU. Aldi do perfectly good emanuel food for only 50p a bag.

serotoninbutterfly · 19/12/2011 14:24

Does someone need to google emanuels to find out what they actually are? Or will the OP let us in on the secret?

FoxyRoxy · 19/12/2011 14:25

Is an emanuel a bit like a camel?

SydneyLa · 19/12/2011 14:26

wtf? the birds.

OP posts:
south345 · 19/12/2011 14:26

Googled it still no idea?!

ToxicMoxie · 19/12/2011 14:27

I don't think one will do it, not for all those emanuels for the whole winter. BTW, I have found it's much more economical to give to the plain old manuels, they are much more frugal without the e.

AliBellandthe40jingles · 19/12/2011 14:30

Oh birds!

YANBU.

LoveInASnowyClimate · 19/12/2011 14:33

PMSL over the Emmanuels but YANBU to feed the birds.

squeakytoy · 19/12/2011 14:35
Grin

From now on the birds in our garden will definately be called the Emmanuels

mistressploppy · 19/12/2011 14:35

Awww, god bless the emanuels. They're supposed to be inheriting the earth, aren't they?

MabelLucyAttwell · 19/12/2011 14:36

In my book there is only one Emanuel.

lljkk · 19/12/2011 14:36

Even poor people should be allowed a few pleasures, I have a feeling it's more than just cost of birdfeed that has got OP into money trouble & is grating on the boyfriend's nerves, though.

Hassledge · 19/12/2011 14:38

Anyone else singing "feed the birds - tuppence a bag"?

pinkdelight · 19/12/2011 14:38

Sorry, this is making me weep with laughter.

GandTiceandaSprout · 19/12/2011 14:39

ha ha! The birds.
You could feed them "for free" if you have left over bacon rind, nuts etc...

But £1 will not break the bank.

releases emmanuels from the shed & sets them free for Christmas

pinkdelight · 19/12/2011 14:39

I can't stop. How did it turn into emanuels?? I need to know!

SydneyLa · 19/12/2011 14:40

I'm not having money problems as such, it's just the general Christmas thing making me a bit skint but I can still afford a bag of Emmanuel bird food!

There is one I'm particularly fond of, a tobin which sits on my shed. I love it Blush
