Because why on earth would I want to broadcast anything I post on her to that Den of Vipers?

I am entirely sick of the way that Facebitch appears to have crept into every sodding unrelated corner of the internet and I really didn't think that MN would stoop this low!

Sorry, that should read "post on here"!

YANBU, would it reveal our mumsnet name on fb? I don't even particularly want people on fb to know I come on mn.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 15/12/2011 16:43

So tempted to click on "f like" then! Grin

I agree with you though!

purpleturtletoise · 15/12/2011 16:45

I'm glad you've posted this. I just saw the button for the first time and was wondering how long it'd been there! Thankfully it seems, not long. Let's hope it's not sticking around either.

blackeyedsanta · 15/12/2011 16:46

when did it appear? I am pretty sure it wwasn't there this morning, but I wasn't quite awake so can not be sure.

usualsuspect · 15/12/2011 16:49

ooh I only just saw it

usualsuspect · 15/12/2011 16:50

How does it work?

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 15/12/2011 16:53

How do we get rid of the fucking thing?

squeakytoy · 15/12/2011 16:53

click it and see Grin

WowOoo · 15/12/2011 16:54

Oh please no. YANBU.

Pandemoniaa · 15/12/2011 16:58

I think the button has, literally, only just appeared. I went to refresh a topic and discovered the page wouldn't load - I now suspect this was because the site was down very briefly while this unwanted little invader got installed. When I refreshed again all came back as before but with the FB "like" option visible.

I'm not at all paranoid about what I post on the internet but like most of us, my writing style is fairly distinctive and I've always found MN a safe little corner well away from the lunacy that is FB. So I don't want anyone connecting my comments on here with anything that occurs on FB which is used by friends and family.

I don't have Facebook so I don't mind. I did download an app which allows me to flag up favourite posters in a different colour and ignore non favourites (not that I actually have ignored anyone).

LaurieFairyCake · 15/12/2011 17:00

Aaaaaahh, the BLISS of clicking on that button and it saying would you like to login to facebook.

I have NO logon ergo it can't catch me Xmas Grin

SanTEEClaus · 15/12/2011 17:02

Thread where MNHQ is responding

Hate it. And I love FB.

ViviPrudolf · 15/12/2011 17:05

What a genius idea! Now I can have a nice satisfying moan-up about my friends and family followed by a fat juicy boast-fest about nice things in the 'Pru world and BROADCAST it to everyone I know! SUPER! I was wondering how I could become a social pariah in a matter of seconds, now I know! THANKS facebook n' mumsnet. You're really spoiling us.

Hmm
supadupaturkeystupour · 15/12/2011 17:05

i'm not sure it makes a jiff of a difference. If i like a thread and want to share on my facebook page I just post a link. You are all over FB whether you like it or not. If it bothers you don't post on the tinterweb....sorry but i really don't see the problem.....

AgathaCrusty · 15/12/2011 17:05

I don't like it either. Utterly fed up with how everything is Facebook this, that and the bloody other these days.

The sooner they get rid of it the better, although I don't suppose they will. Looks like MN has jumped right on the fawning over facebook bandwagon. What a shame.

SanTEEClaus · 15/12/2011 17:06

I have no problem with things being on the web, supa but I am tired of the whole world being swallowed by FB.

I use FB all the time. I use MN all the time. Why do the two have to intersect with no effort?

daveywarbeck · 15/12/2011 17:06

No YANBU.

Two things have happened on MN in the last 24 hours (this is one of them) which means enough is enough for me. Am de-regging.

Happy Christmas everyone.

Ewwwwwww when did that appear?!!!

I do not like FB creeping into everything either!

Pandemoniaa · 15/12/2011 17:08

The trouble is (and tries vair hard not to come across as a paranoid loon) while it can't catch anyone who isn't on Facebook, it'll still reveal what you say to anyone who does. Friends, family, whatever.

Obviously you can't prevent anyone broadcasting what is said on MN because copying and pasting a link is the easiest thing in the world. But that's very different from MN Towers laying a new path right up to Facebook's door and employing a butler to welcome them across the threshold.

I feel like I'm being snooped on by RL Sad

LauraIngallsWilder · 15/12/2011 17:18

I have posted on the other thread too but quite honestly I think this will be the end of me on MN if it stays.
Name change is imminent and I will hardly ever post - why can't we have anonimty (sp?)
Why does facebook have to be everywhere??????

TheOriginalFAB · 15/12/2011 17:21

YANBU.
