about DH's nuts?

i have just had the most bizarre discussion with DH. Bear in mind we have been together for 16 whole years now.

I have decreed that this year we will have nuts. I like nuts. We never have nuts because he does the shopping.

It transpired that he does not know which nut is which. He has never eaten a Brazil nut

I am off to waitrose to buy him a selection to educate him.

dont get walnuts though, they are horrid

Nuts are good. Picking bits of broken shell out of the carpet, soft furnishings, hair, earholes etc is not so good.

I also agree that nutcrackers are crap.
There's a gap in the market there.

My husband is a mega nut eater. He starts at halloween and eats nuts all through to after christmas. I have a permanent limp from walking on fragments of nut shells.

It's not easy being me.

Walnuts are fantastic though. Old Chestnut is bu about them. I like the fact that they look like how I imagine a crispy mouse brain. Yum

The smell is just so lovely.

DH buys them every year but we never get round to putting them on the woodburner.

and bloody tesco only had mixed nuts full of useless almonds (which by the way is pronounced aLmond).

Brazil nuts excellent for wrinkles, apparently. I eat bags at a time and my skin is as smooth and glowy as a 20 year old's.

Oh no, that isn't actually true. But I still eat bags at a time.

I love a bowl of nuts at Christmas - but since we have a very allergic ds we can't have them!

A couple of years ago Lidl sold salted macadamias, roasted in their shells. They were possibly the nicest thing I have ever eaten. I have never found them anywhere since :( I also have a bit of trouble with saying macadamia- it usually comes out macamadamia like Homer Simpson!

I like nuts. I do a chestnut sauce with the Christmas dinner. Mmmmm

I had to go to sainsbo's for pecans this year. Tesco only had walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds, waitrose the same plus brazil nuts, sainsbury's you could buy a bag of pecan's.

What is with the pecan shortage? I can hardly ever find them! Especially still in shells.

The best nut crackers are also the ones with a screw and an enclosed space to put the nut in. Fact.

Get big bags of shelled brazil nuts, pecans, walnuts, etc from Holand & Barret. Then you can eat them faster. Nutcrackers drive me nuts.
