Went to DB for weekend took duvets and pillows as requested.

Coming home one of their kids pillows must have got scooped up with ours by mistake.

SIL wants me to post it back.

My initial response is: that seems crazy, surely you have a spare, or can buy a new one and keep this as spare when you get it back when you see us next.

Don't want to start WW2 though. SIL and I have form.

Should I just send it or is this a crazy request and will cost loads??

Am I beiiiing unreasonable?

Squash them up as small as you can and send them Smile

I'm sure they wouldn't ask if it wasn't somehow important to them?

Surely its cheaper to buy a new pillow? Order one online and get it delivered to her? She IBU, even if she doesnt have spare, its a ridiculous thing to ask you!

Clownsarescary · 30/11/2011 18:21

I'd probably do it to keep the peace. It probably won't cost that much. Pain though.

OnlyWantsOne · 30/11/2011 18:21

Squish it and Post it. May be child's fave pillow cover or some thing else pfb Smile

Kellamity · 30/11/2011 18:21

Bit Hmm but maybe it's a favourite pillow? I would squash it up like Zigzag said, maybe with masking tape?

LeBOF · 30/11/2011 18:21

Is it made from unicorn down?

VFVF · 30/11/2011 18:22

Is it a particularly posh pillow? (feather/memory foam)

Personally if I was your SIL I would just go out and buy another but then I use cheapie ones Grin

Perhaps you should just post it to avoid any disputes.

Byeckersitsapropercrimbolike · 30/11/2011 18:22

If you roll it, you will be able to get it in a jiffy bag, it wont cost a huge amount.

She is, of course, bonkers! Grin

MordechaiVanunu · 30/11/2011 18:24

Well as far as I know so far, its just a pillow, as we certainly haven't identified any pillows which look sufficiently different from ours.
Not sure how we are going to identify it actually.

Shessh, I don't have time to go to post office and do this crap. Why can't she just buy a new one???????

Yourefired · 30/11/2011 18:27

Go for easy life option and post back as requested.

valiumredhead · 30/11/2011 18:29

So what is her child sleeping on tonight? Or are you supposed to courier it by nightfall? Hmm

MordechaiVanunu · 30/11/2011 18:32

Probably should go for easy life, but she h no qualms about stating what she needs and will and won't do (this is small minor example) I feel ARRRRRRGH why am I jumping again when asked?????

Send it, not worth the aggro

MordechaiVanunu · 30/11/2011 19:18

Well, I am being a v bad AIBU OP and ignoring your advice.

Ive sent a text asking if it's special and how we could identify it, and suggesting it might be more more effective to buy a new one than post it then keep this as a spare when they get it back.

Have also said as I'm mad busy at work won't be able to post until week after next anyway.

If really special pillow I'd post but nephew not had it for two weeks now so has obviously been managing somehow.

She sounds like a lunatic.

chrimblycompo · 30/11/2011 19:59

Get dh , her brother?, to deal with her

carabos · 30/11/2011 20:00

maryz SIBR love it. In fact, I think it should have a whole topic category of its own. At least half of AIBU could slide across into it.
