He calls himself something like 'multi-accented' and claims if he is in a country for more than a day he automatically adapts to the accent.

Which doesn't explain the American accent while filming in Cardiff!

JaneBirkin · 28/11/2011 09:03

I thought he was American. I can't stand him.

TeaCider · 28/11/2011 09:04

I like JB but the accent slippage made me squirm and not in a good way. Grin

StealthPenguin · 28/11/2011 09:04

He's like me then. I've been to Greece, Ireland and the U.S and every time someone has asked where I'm from they've given me a quizzical look and then told me I sound like a local. It's bloody annoying! I have a friend from North Wales and she's fond of getting me pissed, because when I've had a glass of vino I can't control my accent-mimicking!

How much do I want him, though? All the cute ones are gay! and by that I mean Derren Brown too :o

I saw a programme about him once. He was born and raised in Aberdeen (IIRC) but moved to the States when he was young.
In order to fit in, he adopted the local accent.
His parents were on the show, they sound like they come from Balamory still.
He is lovely looking, but a bit too shiney and sparkly for me. I prefer them a bit grubbier/rougher.

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 28/11/2011 09:15

He is ALL THINGS AWFUL. Smarmy self-satisfied affected creep. Yeuch.

tooearlymustdache · 28/11/2011 09:18
Shock
tooearlymustdache · 28/11/2011 09:18

oopsies, forgot the Grin

GwendolineMaryLacey · 28/11/2011 09:20

He did that on his who do you think you are. Went to visit his family in Scotland and it was all tatties and neeps. I had to ring my mum to ask WTactualF?

My accent slips depending on who I am with but there's slipping and taking the piss!

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 28/11/2011 09:21

Grin. And I was worried.
Seriously, he is seven shades of ick. Tell me you don't really love him?

tooearlymustdache · 28/11/2011 09:25

i hate Michael Ball though, i'm not all about the love of all things lovey Grin

StealthPenguin · 28/11/2011 09:31

He can talk in any accent he likes as long as he comes and does naughty things to me right now.....

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 28/11/2011 09:39

I have never heard him do Irish but him and his sister only speak in Scottish accents when they are together even though they both have American accents.

I dont know why they do it but they think its hilaaariousss

It isnt but as long as they are happy and we dont have to see them together on tv often..

Eglu · 28/11/2011 09:43

He always talks in a Scottish accent to his family. I guess because Lorraine is Scottish he slipped into it.

He was on This Morning once and chatting away in his usual American accent. They then got his sister to join him and he immediately swapped to Scottish. It is quite strange.

mrsjay · 28/11/2011 09:44

Jb is scottish/american he slips in and out of his accent especially when hes with scottish people , My dd went to his concert last week ( i know shocking lol ) in scotland and he did alot of it in his scottish accent , i think he went to america when he was 9ish ,

valiumredhead · 28/11/2011 09:45

He's Scottish.
