Is it a festive invasion?

Sparklingbrook · 24/11/2011 09:50

What's a nethun?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 24/11/2011 09:54

Just looked at Nethuns and apparently they have a mysterious invasion at the moment as well....

zimm · 24/11/2011 09:54

The lesser spotted nethum can be identified through the use of:

Dreadful spelling/grammar/capitalisation
The words 'lol', 'hun' or 'hugz'
Text speak
Jeremy kyle type conundrums posted in AIBU
'Happy Mummy, Happy parenting' to justify parenting choices.

Very judgemental today aren't we? I was once a Netmums editor and am still a member.

ConOfScience · 24/11/2011 09:56

Ignore it and it will go away

Big hugs xxxxxxxxxx

catnet · 24/11/2011 09:58

is it me of has mumsnet been taken over by alot of self-righteous, humourless, selfish middle class mummies with too much time of their hands lately?

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 24/11/2011 09:58

I don't get the netmums hatred. It's just another forum.

crazynanna · 24/11/2011 10:00

I think they have their own problems going on over there.
A quiche's thread was pulled...some members buggered off to another smaller forum as some got banned for posts on said thread...and the banned ones came back under other names to be a bit mischievous (so I'm led to believe),then the thread came back edited, and some of the quiche on the small forum and the thread on NM started fighting.

Or summat like that....got the info sort of 4th hand.

TheRhubarb · 24/11/2011 10:00

I don't get it either chickens. I'm a member too so therefore that makes me a middle class, self-righteous, humourless, selfish mummy.

Threads like this make Mumsnetters look like twats tbh.

rycooler · 24/11/2011 10:03

I post on NetMums and I love it - they've never been anything other than friendly and helpful - this place really has too many pompous snobs.

Sparklingbrook · 24/11/2011 10:04

Now paranoid I am a 'pompous snob'. Sad

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 24/11/2011 10:05

fact remains that there are an awful lot of "new posters" with inflammatory views appearing suddenly at the moment, I think invading from somewhere, not necessarily Netmums (which i have no opinion on really)

furrysausage · 24/11/2011 10:05

I'm actually a member and have (shock horror) made a very good friend from the site who I see regularly in the 'real world'. Haven't been on there for yonks though soon have no idea what's going on.

The people who use it aren't all huns.

ConOfScience · 24/11/2011 10:05

I agree with TheRhubarb.

OP, may I ask what you're trying to achieve with this thread?

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 24/11/2011 10:07

When we're invaded, it tends to be that car forum or the MRA blokes. Or because Matthew Wright has been spouting off again about what bastards we all are

crazynanna · 24/11/2011 10:07

I think if you do a search over at NMs,you will find just as many derogatory threads about here. Hope you say the same to them.

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 24/11/2011 10:07

oh no, netmums makes my eyes bleed.

NinkyNonker · 24/11/2011 10:07

It is a superiority thing. Apparently they don't speak proper over there or summink.

TheRhubarb · 24/11/2011 10:10

crazynanna - so we should do the playground thing should we? They called us first so we call them back? Really?

We're all bloody parents who come onto a forum for support and entertainment. There is no 'them' and 'us' and most trolls are not from Netmums but as Chicken has said, male forums who like to take the piss or Daily Mail readers.

Insulting other parents on another forum is just low.
