One of my FB friends has just uploaded a pic of one of her dogs dead pups in a little coffin thing. AIBU to think this is very weird behaviour???

worraliberty · 13/11/2011 16:10

It is weird to want to publish it on the internet, yes I suppose.

GoForthAndSwivel · 13/11/2011 16:11

God yes! I'd definitely be weirded out by a picture of that. Has anyone commented on it?

Strange behaviour but she might see it as paying 'homage' to the dear puppy.

LottieJenkins · 13/11/2011 16:12

That is disgusting and very disturbing! Report the picture!!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 13/11/2011 16:15

That's...odd. And, I imagine, quite upsetting.

RomanKindle · 13/11/2011 16:15

No-one has commented yet. Do you think I should report it? It is quite upsetting. She has set her status to RIP - I don't think she means any harm.

OP posts:
NettoSuperstar · 13/11/2011 16:16

Some people overshare.

SuePurblybiltbyElves · 13/11/2011 16:17

What is wrong with people? How do you take a photograph, put in on the pc, upload to wherever, transfer to FB and not at any point in that process, stop and ask yourself what the fuck you're doing?
I do hate FB so.

GlitterySkulls · 13/11/2011 16:19

is the status "r.i.p little one" by any chance?

RomanKindle · 13/11/2011 16:20

A couple of other things are disturbing. She has named the pup - including her boyfriends surname. And it looks like she is storing the pup on the kitchen worksurface - or at least she photographed it there.
It is very sad but is there ANYTHING people won't post on FB?

OP posts:
TheMonster · 13/11/2011 16:20

I'd report it. I can imagine that it's upsetting.

TheTamingOfTheShrew · 13/11/2011 16:21

Another reason not to use FB! (disclaimer: actually I have an account but only for emergency use)

AgentZigzag · 13/11/2011 16:21

Maybe it's freaked her out and she's trying to get her head round it?

Or she could just want some sympathy and thinks other people will say it's 'just a dog'?

It is a bit 'unusual' though.

What kind of a person is she?

How have other people commented on the picture?

MissPenteuth · 13/11/2011 16:21

If she's a close friend, can you send her a FB message suggesting that some people might find it upsetting? If she's not a close friend, I'd report it.

RomanKindle · 13/11/2011 16:21

No Glittery - it's RIP followed by the name. You haven't had a friend do the same thing have you?

OP posts:
Hissy · 13/11/2011 16:22

Dear Lord Shock

defriend the loon!

MissPenteuth · 13/11/2011 16:22

A reason not to use FB? I've been using it for 5 years and none of my friends have ever uploaded photos of dead animals. It's not FB's fault that there are some odd people out there.

RomanKindle · 13/11/2011 16:23

Not a close friend - an old school friend who I no longer see.

OP posts:
worraliberty · 13/11/2011 16:23

Report it? FFS talk about over reaction Hmm

Save reporting for graphic violence...pornograpy - that sort of thing.

Not a pic of a dead puppy that probably looks like it's sleeping FGS.

RomanKindle · 13/11/2011 16:24

It's not a horrific pic - it's only upsetting because I know it's dead iyswim.

OP posts:
AgentZigzag · 13/11/2011 16:25

I'm interested in what you would class as an emergency use of fb Shrew?

A panicky scrabbling about to find out whether someone had toast or cereal for breakfast? Grin

GlitterySkulls · 13/11/2011 16:28

no, but they have been talking about the latest litter's two wee unfortunates :( a lot.

photo albums dedicated to the 2 deceased pups memory, status updates etc

i've actually just checked the photo's to see- i can imagine them doing something like that Confused

Iteotwawki · 13/11/2011 16:34

Agent, I have FB for emergencies. I can set my status to something like "I'm ok!" for occasions such as the February earthquake when people couldn't call to check because phone lines were down (still had intermittent net access via phone & 3G).

catgirl1976 · 13/11/2011 18:09

That is odd. Just hide the pic from showing on your main page.
