Jimmy Carr is the lowest of the low.

He has twittered a joke in very poor taste about losing 2 grandparents in a car crash, just as the police are releasing the m5 accident victims.

Sorry I don't know how to do links.

So AIBU to think he is a cunt?

YABU, unless he was directly making the joke about the people in the crash you've just put two random pieces of information together.

He's a shock comedian doing what's expected of him.

crashdoll · 06/11/2011 18:45

YABU. I can't tolerate the C word. And also, I find him funny.

comedycentral · 06/11/2011 18:46

What did it say? It is no longer there, it now says...

jimmycarr Jimmy Carr
Very bad timing by me. The joke was obviously not about recent tragic events. Apologies if any offence caused.

He has also tweeted this an hour ago

His original tweet was in the middle of a stream of joke tweets.. (well, I assume they were supposed to be jokes, they were not particularly funny).

so no. not a cunt

MenopausalHaze · 06/11/2011 18:51

Lowest of the low? Let's not get too over-wrought abou this ffs? I expect you're fuming and offended beyond belief as well are you?

Here. Have a grip.

AgentZigzag · 06/11/2011 18:53

Can I have one too while you've got them out please MH?

prettyfly1 · 06/11/2011 18:53

Urrghhh no - YABU. He made a joke, realised it was probably in poor taste and removed it, apologising at the time. Not a cxxt at all actually.

MenopausalHaze · 06/11/2011 18:54

That is entirely dependant on the level and intensity of your offended fuming hysteria Agent. If it's in the top 85% then you are more than welcome to one of my 'must have hard to find sold out in all stores' grips.

I saw him live once and actually yes, he was a cunt. It was one of those "if you don't find this funny then you're a boring twat" spiels followed by jokes about DV which really weren't funny, being about DV and all. But obviously by not laughing I was a boring twat. I still wish I'd walked out.

Zummerzetzider · 06/11/2011 18:56

Ok IABU

I do find it hard though to understand why people have the need to make jokes about death, crashes and the like.

Ahh I have seen it now, the Mirror have it on their website. The power of Google! Poor taste but I bet he wasn't thinking, we have all had our 'foot-in-mouth' moments'.

AgentZigzag · 06/11/2011 18:57

My frothing outrage is often mistaken for rabies MH.

So probably in the top 90% if the truth be known.

Chestnutx3 · 06/11/2011 19:02

Saw his show very recently won't be going again, sexist non funny jokes, went to the loo when it all go too male.

MenopausalHaze · 06/11/2011 19:04

Is Jimmy Carr the screaming howling camp one with the dead dodgy teeth?

blackoutthesun · 06/11/2011 19:06

no thats alan carr

MenopausalHaze · 06/11/2011 19:22

Ah - thanks! Can't stand either of them anyway!

Rollersara · 06/11/2011 19:28

I saw him live once. Afterwards he was supposed to be in the theatre bar signing autographs. I'm a wheelchair user and the bar isn't accessible. The usher came up to me as I was leaving and said if I wanted to meet him he'd come and see me as I couldn't get to the bar. I got to that theatre a lot and never heard that before*. I said no, but have often thought he is actually much nicer than his stage persona.

  • I did see Harry Hill recording a tv show and he came over at the endand gave me a signed copy of the script...
Esta3GG · 06/11/2011 19:33

Do people sit around all day waiting to find something to offend them so they can get all huffy about it?

troisgarcons · 06/11/2011 19:34

Im sure he speaks tremendously highly of the Op as well.

Some people just live to be serially offended. If you don't like him, de-twitter him. Personally I cant see the fascination for hanging onto a s'lebs every bloody update.

I bet that tweet was about recent events, as he does like to push the boundaries as it were.

Even if it wasn't the timing was appalling and aside from that yes I think he is a bit of a twat.

And while I wouldn't use the c word on here a lot of people do so people getting huffy about it should bugger off to Netmums.
