To be seething about Starbucks prices

snitchrose168 · 04/11/2011 10:23

I have a starbucks card which means I get extra shots and syrup and cream for free. So if I was was to order a vanilla latte with whip it will only cost me £2.15 instead of £2.90 (35p syrup and 40p cream). Now bring on the festive gingerbread latte, which is latte with syrup and whip. So surely this should cost £2.90. But oh no they charge £2.95 and there is no reduction when you pay with your starbucks card and also there is no reduction when you order it without whip! I am very annoyed and would refuse to buy them, if only they didn't taste so good!!

Seething? Really.

grovel · 04/11/2011 10:26

That's outrageous. Burn the place down.

betterwhenthesunshines · 04/11/2011 10:27

Confused You're seething about 5p difference on the cost of a drink. Buy it, don't buy it, whatever.

TunaTiebacks · 04/11/2011 10:27

Can only assume from your crazy post that you are strung out on too much caffeine. So maybe best to avoid Starbucks all together. Plus think of how much MORE money you'd save.

TeacupTempest · 04/11/2011 10:27

ah Starbucks... We have a love hate relationship.

betterwhenthesunshines · 04/11/2011 10:28

Now £3 for a bottle of water at the cinema yersterday evening... that was fairly Shock

Ephiny · 04/11/2011 10:28

Seriously?

Vanilla/gingerbread latte sounds vile anyway.

MartyrStewart · 04/11/2011 10:29

MN is bonkers at the moment Grin

snitchrose168 · 04/11/2011 10:29

Ok so seething is a bit over the top but I am miffed. It does make good business sense though. But it's not the 5p difference, it's the fact that is costs the same even without the cream and the rewards card is sold on the premise that you get the extras for free. So why not get them for free with a gingerbread latte.

I call for - and demand an immediate countrywide boycott of Starbucks for having the bare-faced bloody cheek to want to maximise their profits on their shit delicious coffee!

Caffe Nero every time for me!

No, she's cross because the card she has entitling her to free extras doesn't apply to this one.

Sharri yes, Louise M was made to look a tad 'blonde' in her depth of political argument.

snitchrose168 · 04/11/2011 10:43

No serious coffee drinker would put vanilla and gingerbread in their coffee. YABU for drinking such a cocktail of sweetness.

CustardIsMyNemesis · 04/11/2011 10:45

YABU.

Costa do the yummy Gingerbread Latte all year round and the (free) reward card gets you free cakes coffee.

snitchrose168 · 04/11/2011 10:45

I'm not a serious coffee drinker coraltoes. I take the syrups so I don't have to put sugar in them Grin.
