Because you have small feet, you could eBay your shoes to dwarves, would you be offended?

Or that because you have size 9 feet, you could eBay your shoes to transvestites, would you be offended?

OP posts:
IneedAbetterNickname · 01/11/2011 00:24

Lol no! My friend has size 9 feet, and we often joke that she should shop in transvestite shops!

manicbmc · 01/11/2011 00:26

My dd could sell her shoes to clowns Grin

thisisyesterday · 01/11/2011 00:26

i don't think i would be offended, although if people kept on saying it i think i'd get pissed off fairly quickly

LeBOF · 01/11/2011 00:28

No, I would assume it was just not especially funny joke.

CumpyGrunt · 01/11/2011 00:30

I have size 4 feet.

I can buy child sizes for myself.

Much cheaper Grin

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 01/11/2011 00:31

yes.

AnyFucker · 01/11/2011 00:31

it would depend how many times this "screamingly funny" person had said it, tbh

once is ok

if said person repeated it everywhere he/she went, to everybody, whilst expectantly waiting for small/big footed persons reaction, I would personally feel like chinning them

but then, I quite often have SOH failures when faced with stupid behaviour from grown people

why do you ask ? < innocent >

worraliberty · 01/11/2011 00:33

I've got size 3 feet and I wouldn't be offended

Then again, no much offends me really...especially if it's not intended nastily.

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 01/11/2011 00:33

Not for my feet btw, for little people and transsexuals.

TheTenantOfWildfellHall · 01/11/2011 00:36

I've also got size 3 feet. But in Monsoon I get size 2s from the children's section.

I wouldn't get offended but I might get a bit bored of hearing it repeatedly, if anyone was really that interested in the size of my feet!

ItsGrimUpNorth · 01/11/2011 00:37

It's been said a few times by the funny person. A friend and I need a witty riposte but are quite paralysed.

OP posts:
manicbmc · 01/11/2011 00:38

Could she sell her mouth to the tories? Grin

thisisyesterday · 01/11/2011 00:39

i think you should just say nothing.

an awkward silence often beats a witty riposte I reckon

AnyFucker · 01/11/2011 00:39

just chin her ?

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 01/11/2011 00:39

You are missing the point.

AnyFucker · 01/11/2011 00:40

yeh...just let the "screamingly funny" comment just hang....and hang

then chin her Grin

manicbmc · 01/11/2011 00:41

Yep and then start talking about what you're having for tea. Grin

RomanKindle · 01/11/2011 00:59

I have told my friend that she should buy kids shoes cos her feet are tiny but she ribs me too so it's all fair. My sister is a size 9. She has worn mens shoes and shoes from drag shops in the past. Not so much anymore as there are more womens shops that stock larger sizes. My mums feet are tiny too. I call them trotters. Maybe I'm the 'funny' friend?

ItsGrimUpNorth · 01/11/2011 01:02

Roman, do you make the same tedious comments often?

OP posts:
whethergirl · 01/11/2011 01:03

But why is that offensive? Because if you do have really small feet you probably could sell your shoes to a dwarf, and if you do have size 9 feet you probably could sell your shoes to a transvetite.

The point is, do you want to sell your shoes?

RomanKindle · 01/11/2011 01:05

I wouldn't say often but if someone with trotters or canoes makes a personal remark about me they had better beware Grin

ChippingInAutumnLover · 01/11/2011 01:30

Roman Grin

Loopy - I can see you are trying to make a point. I get that the point is it's somehow descrinatory or offensive - I just don't get how you are making that leap??

I have said (as the owner of feet whose shoes could be sold to dwarfs but they wouldn't want the stinky things) to people with very large feet 'I could go rowing in those' (I'm not quite 5ft). But I wouldn't say it time & time again...

Witty reposte?... Oh FFS leave it out you are getting very boring!

ChippingInAutumnLover · 01/11/2011 01:30

If not - do what AF said, chin them Grin

SacreLao · 01/11/2011 01:36

I wouldn't be offended.

I have size 8 feet and often get jokes about borrowing clown shoes / sideshow bob etc.

Some people are easily offended so I would think if you said it once and they didn't laugh / find it funny you wouldn't say it again.

NaughtyBusterAndTheBumFactory · 01/11/2011 07:40

I wouldn't personally make a joke about Transvestites or dwarves but what I don't get is why anyone cares what size feet other people have. I have friends with big feet and those with very small feet and I couldn't give a flying fuck.
