To think life would be better as a man?

If you could choose would you rather be a woman or a man? After weighing it up I think it would be better to be a man, aibu?

I am quite happy being a woman in the western world.

had i been born into many other cultures then i would probably perfer to be a man.

Well I just think their would be less stress in general, less pressure about how you look & what you wear, less harrassment, people would take you seriously more often than if you were a woman. You could do things that wouldn't raise an eyebrow yet if a woman did it she would be a bad mother/slut/alcoholic/irresponsible

No, don't get me wrong I do enjoy being a woman but I just think life would be better/easier as a man

I know what you mean but since I've aged considerably blossomed, I actually wouldn't want to be a man. Life in England is good and getting so much better for women.

These days we CAN get out of any sort of marrital situation and survive financially. Women need to just need to stop tollerating controlling bad behaviour.

I just tried to explain in my last post, umm perhaps it's not wanting to become a man that is the issue, more wanting to be considered an absolute equal by society

Maybe i live in my own little happy bubble but I have never felt anything but equal.
I have never felt anthing is lacking in my life as a woman or felt judged and found wanting.

Well an example, I would like to be able to go out bare faced with jeans and a loose t-shirt on (evening & daytime) without people thinking I was letting myself go or look a slob. I would like to go for a jog without getting shouted at by sleazy men in cars. I would like not to have periods or get PMT. I would like to not feel under pressure from every angle about how to be beautiful, what clothes to wear, how to get rid of hair, the list goes on!

I much prefer being a woman. Definitely don't want to be a man. I have a good life, lots of choices and tbh not that much stress either. I don't feel a great deal of pressure to hit certain percieved standards either.

I never wear make up
my whole waldrobe consists of jeans, t shirts, hoodies. In fact i haven't worn a skirt since my youngest was baptised 13 years ago.
I haven't jogged in over 15 years so i haven't come across any sleazy men but i will admit to having the odd sleaze at our local mens football team as they jog around the park at the same time my teen son is training.
periods are just a fact of life for a woman and i have never suffered with pmt.

The rest is down to presure you are putting on yourself and the rest of the world doesn't care as much as you think they do.
You need to learn to be happy in your own skin.

not all men are physically superiour to women.

Just like women men come in all shapes and sizes. Look at Johny who has just got through on xfactor. Most women i know would be able to knock him out without even working up a sweat.

cantspel - do you ever feel insecure around women who dress up and do their hair/make-up? I don't mean full on glamour model style but someone who pays attention to their appearance.

I never wear heels or get my hair 'done' but I do wear make-up everyday, watch what I eat, think carefully about what I wear. It's depressing but I know I would feel worse if I didn;t bother and felt other women looked much more attractive than me Sad
