by some M&S vine ripened piccolino tomatoes?!

I bought some this morning. They're delicious. I've eaten 12 and I have a very painful tongue now. It's not dissimilar to drinking too hot coffee. But it's quite uncomfortable.

Is this even possible?

Did you wash them first?

I once burnt the skin off my tongue by eating a quarter pound of acid drop boiled sweets.

Haha... well you're not BURNT as such, but the acid will have got to you, that's all.

Oooh oooh yes - MissPenteuth - I too slashed my mouth to pieces on a small, rustly paper bag full of Everton mints.

When thoroughly sucked, they separate out into razor-sharp shards. Probably some sort of scouse joke.

tommies give me tongue burn too

Once got chemical burns and an ulcerated throat from some Morrison's Traditional Cough Drops, but that's a whole nother story.

Only time I've ever seen a GP reel back in horror Grin

Fruit and vegatables are DANGEROUS and should be AVOIDED.

A bar of chocolate is safe.

I think you might be right, Pinot.

My tongue still hurts now. Never had that from bar of chocolate!

I made my tongue bleed with a giant Double Lolly. It was absolutely worth it though.

Fresh pineapple makes my tongue bleed.

Report
MrsCampbellBlack · 04/10/2011 18:03

Kiwi fruit does this to me too.

Report
CroissantNeuf · 04/10/2011 18:04

Too much pineapple can do that to me.

If I eat a shed load of Maltesers it makes the roof of my mouth sore too...doesn't stop me eating them though

And Sugar Puffs make your wee wee smell of Sugar Puffs.

'Tis quite unnerving. And a partial non-sequitur, to boot.

Try sucking a crunchie bar slowly. The blood just pours out of your tongue. I have done it more than once too Confused

I've sucked crunchies slowly and never had blood pour out of my tongue. I'm loving the crunchie suck. In fact, much to my husband's disappointment, it's one of the few thins that I will suck :)
