I mean Envy but you get my drift Smile

SwingingBetty · 22/09/2011 08:16

if you are over 75, enjoy it Grin

otherwise you are wasting a lovely opportunity

Tee2072 · 22/09/2011 08:18

Ignore Betty. Sounds like bliss to me.

topsyturner · 22/09/2011 08:19

I did that yesterday . Grin

LoveBeingAMummyAgain · 22/09/2011 08:20

BlueKangaroo22 · 22/09/2011 08:22

Oh, I'm so jealous, I'm just about to get out of my lovely warm bed to get ready for work.

I'm late, I'm slightly hungover, and I have to get up.

Did i mention I have to get up?

YANBU, do it and then some!!

featherbag · 22/09/2011 08:50

I've been awake since 4, up since 5, and I'm now in the waiting room ready for latest round of scans and antenatal stuff. BUT! When I get home, after doing some necessary shopping, I'm going straight back to bed Grin

sausagesandmarmelade · 22/09/2011 09:14

What I wouldn't give for a Duvet Day..........

gemdrop84 · 22/09/2011 09:53

Go for it Grin- I cant seem to switch off even if I do have an opportunity with just a couple hours to myself, something strange has happened in which I start to feel guilty and that I should be doing something remotely housework/mummy related!! Confused

Am just heading into a two-week school holiday. Yay! Okay, I have three classes of scripts to mark, but do-able. Especially if I don't do it properly, which is what I tell them.:o

I want to watch a film with no artistic merit.

ditavonteesed · 22/09/2011 10:30

I was wondering the same thing myself, had a migraine yesterday and still feel a bit crap, have taken kids to schoo,l and walked the dogs, so can I go back to ed now?

GirlWithALlamaTattoo · 22/09/2011 10:39

Umm, have you got up to take the kids to school? Now you want to go back to bed? Or are the kids old enough to take themselves to school?

If you're ill, fair enough. If not, have a shower, get dressed and Mumsnet on the sofa. A chilled-out day is wholly reasonable; grab the opportunity while it's there, but going to bed in the daytime is a bit, erm, slatternly, isn't it, for a healthy adult?

MadameDefarge · 22/09/2011 11:27

I am doing just that.

RainboweBrite · 22/09/2011 11:57

Hope you're enjoying it! I often go back to bed for a couple of hours, although I usually end up reading rather than napping. So what if it's slatternly? It's FUN!

betterwhenthesunshines · 22/09/2011 12:17

my DH was 'ill' yesterday which meant he went back to bed and slept all morning while I raced round doing all the jobs, kids, supervise homework etc. Must admit I did a lot less 'wasting computer time' than normal Blush

You have to have some 'down days' where you just get to do nothing. Just not everyday, so enjoy it!

betterwhenthesunshines · 22/09/2011 12:18

BTW when my yonger brother went to school for the first time, my mum told me she went back to bed ALL DAY EVERYDAY for 3 WEEKS and then she felt she could get up and carry on with life!

AngryFeet · 22/09/2011 12:22

Really betterwhen? That's very interesting.... DS is due to start fulltime school on Monday.... Grin

Good on you OP. I just couldn't do it. Sometimes I will watch TV for an hour in the morning but unless I am ill I just can't justify in my own mind going back to bed. DH and the kids are at work and school why should I be lazing around. I know technically I deserve it but I am too much of a martyr clearly Grin

Dammit I have turned into my mother!

loopylou6 · 22/09/2011 12:26

Just woke up Grin

Yes I was up this morning to do the kids breakfast and see them off, but I don't take them, ds drops dd off at her school on the way to his.

I probably am being slatternly but at least I admit it :)

Fair enough, then. :)
