Name stealing?

my brother's best friend has just named his newborn the same name as my brother's son- who is four years old. Now I know that it is a compliment, but it's the way in which he conducted himself. He didn't consult with my brother, didn't even tell him his baby had been born a week ago. My brother heard from a friend. When he rang to congratulate him, and asked the baby's name, he commented it was nice that he had named him after his son: but his best friend had the audacity to say he didn't like the name at all, it was his girlfriend's choice, also he wasn't aware that my brother's son had that name, although he had an inkling! He said they consulted baby name books, etc. My brother is understandably upset and feels betrayed. We, as a family, feel my brother's pain. But are we being terribly unreasonable, or are we justified in our emotions?

Panda can we still watch Jeremy Kyle in our hyena commune, and can I bring my widescreen tele?

ShirleyKnot · 01/09/2011 09:47

Slaaaaaaags!

HA HA HA! Oh man, this shit is actually golden. I also liked the bit when the OP said that princesses should be made illegal.

TandB · 01/09/2011 09:48

Oh bugger. I am at home with a sick toddler and I completely forgot about Jeremy Kyle.

That would have brightened up my morning lovely.

[perks up]

Oh well, at least I have this thread!

PippiLongBottom · 01/09/2011 09:49

Claw3 · 01/09/2011 09:49

Slaaaaaaags is actually funnier than slags

ihatecbeebies · 01/09/2011 09:50

Ok joking aside crownjewels I'm still confused about the partner traveling so late in the pregnancy, how was she able to?

SiamoFottuti · 01/09/2011 09:51

abso-fucking-lutely briliant, in a bonkers as conkers, mad as a bag of cut snakes, crawling the walls crazy kind of way.

Really brightened my morning! Grin

Witchofthenorth · 01/09/2011 09:52

Where has OP gone, I want to be insulted god dammit! INSULT ME!

TandB · 01/09/2011 09:52

Where is the OP?

Don't tell me she isn't going to post any more - how will I entertain myself?

Oh well, maybe I better take a perked-up DS into my fictitious office for a bit. There is only so much pre-recorded In the Night Garden I can cope with.

Maybe he can make a start on our conveyancing for the commune.

TandB · 01/09/2011 09:53

Witchofthenorth - you are a slaaag. Tut tut.

HTH

Fuzzywuzzywozabear · 01/09/2011 09:53

The bell probably sounded for first lesson, sadly

ShirleyKnot · 01/09/2011 09:54

I'll call you a rancid scum sucking WHORE if you like WOTN?

Witchofthenorth · 01/09/2011 09:54

Aaaaaahhhh! Thanks pannda! That's better :o

MamaChoo · 01/09/2011 09:54

Who is hoarding my share of these drugs and spliffs that keep getting mentioned? Tut tut.

TandB · 01/09/2011 09:55

Shirley's was better!

Claw3 · 01/09/2011 09:55

Glad to hear Fido is feeling well enough to go into your fictitious office for a bit Kungupanda. When Spot wakes up, i might take him to work with me too, not sure standing on street corners is going to help his cold though.

southmum · 01/09/2011 09:55

Grin nincompoop ....... I love the shite attempt at trying to spew a shocking foul mouthed rant and then a rather twee 'ninny' is thrown in

Im another one who was feeling a bit down, Ive ran out of crack you see and have drank all my cans of special brew already so had nothing to cheer me up, this thread will take my mind off the shakes for a little while....

Witchofthenorth · 01/09/2011 09:56

Shirley, I like it, I am so glad all you slaaaaaags are here :) I shall move into the commune with my Jeremy Kyle box set, and if it helps, I think my 3 kids have 5 different fathers. Can I bet a DNA please?

scottishmummy · 01/09/2011 09:56

op,you're a genus and spot on about mn.i applaud you're searing incisive comments.good thing you're here to tell it as it is

Witchofthenorth · 01/09/2011 09:57

*get.

TandB · 01/09/2011 09:58

Definitely taking Fido into the office now. The little bugger just tried to wash my iphone.

It is going to take me bloody ages to sell enough crack to pay for a new one.

Anyone want to pay me to shag my DP?

hester · 01/09/2011 09:59

MN, please don't delete this thread. It is comedy gold.

TandB · 01/09/2011 10:00

scottishmummy - I agree that the OP is definitely a genus. A genus all of her own. Possibly even an entirely unique species!

LadyBeagleEyes · 01/09/2011 10:00

Marking my spot for the turn of the lovely CrownJewels.
I second not reporting this as I need to take note of how many insults she/he has used in her posts.
It may be a MN record.
Well done OP.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 01/09/2011 10:04

Do me! Do me! I want to be insulted in a random manner!
