I went over to my sisters to drop a few things off and when I got there I saw her, my other sister and brother. They were all high as kites having snorted lines of cocaine (I could see some of the remains). I hate drugs and left pretty quickly but I feel so upset, my 2 sisters are only 24, 22 both unemployed and my brother is 17 (still at college). I knew that my sisters did it occaisionally but now my brother does it as well, I just find it so depressing.They're all clever and talented and could do many things but their lives are just going to waste.

YABU you are not responsible for them, if that is how they choose to behave then let them get on with it. I'd look at putting distance between you and them for your own sake.

how did they afford it? from what i remember it's pretty pricey and a bit of a waste for a Monday night in.

Where are your parents whilst their 17yo shoves white powder up his nose? Do they not know because if they don't then you ought to tell them. Your sisters are adults and are responsible for themselves and if they don't think they've got a problem then there is nothing you can do. It is sad but there is nothing you can do.

you are definitely entitled to have a cry, and then i suggest you speak to your parents to warn them what your brother is doing. Aside from that, there is nothing you can do as they all need to want to stop.

Why did you leave him there, if it were me I'd have grabbed him and dragged him out, he's still a kid. I think its pretty low as I assume your sisters have introduced him to it and so are trying to ruin his life.

YANBU I went through all this with one of my 4 siblings who got into Heroine in his early twenties. I also dabbled a little bit in my uni days but I did get out of it all pretty quickly after a couple of years of setting my feet in the wrong places. It really is horrible to see them especially when they start suffering from it and get into more serious stuff to fund it.
My parents were very strict, never smoked,drank and in good jobs. We were often seen as 'the perfect family' but were far from it. It can happen to anyone and until they see the error of their ways for themselves unfortunately there is little you can do. :(

Do you know how often they do it? I'm from a fairly liberal family/social group about these things.
Me and my half sister did coke and neither got addicted or ruined our lives. I think the issue usually is how frequent the use is - so a few lines in a club once or twice a year (when you are working and can afford it) is not the same as spending money you don't have on it everyday.

Aeder, 17 year olds are not that easy to grab and drag out! He could be twice the size of his sister and obviously wanted to be there with his sisters.

Yanbu. However just wanted to chip in and point out that the price of cocaine is actually pretty low now - much cheaper than it was in the 80s, in fact a single line of coke is roughly the same price as half a lager. Just though I'd mention it.

My sisters do it very regularly whilst its the first time I've seen him do it but he has just moved in with one of them.

Really betty i thought it was about £60-80 per gram. 1 line lasts about 15 mins of buzz so i never really understood why someone would do it without other stimulus - dancing, drinking etc

arolio those who are bang on it don't usually share it. So if he gets into it would your sister keep supplying it? If they are unemployed even half a lager is expensive!

Maybe not so easy when you are faced with 3 of your 'high' siblings sitting together in the front room. You don't know how they will react. Its easier said than done ikoto.

YABU they are unemployed and spend Monday nights high on coke, they are just tossers ignore them and don't let them drag you down.

It doesn't sound good particulary for your sisters as they sound like addicts. It doesn't sound as bad with your brother because most people his age dabble in drugs and most don't become hooked. Still it must be very upsetting.

YABU just ditch them they sound like a trio of complete losers, unemployed and just sitting around doing lines of cocaine. I'd stay away from them before they drag you into loserville.

There are some very savage posts on this thread you can't just drop your family and pretend they don't exist, on the otherhand nothing can be done whilst they don't acknowledge they have a problem and talk of dragging people out of the room is ridiculous. I'd cry too if I'd seen my siblings doing that so I feel sad for the OP.

Are your parents aware of what any of them are up to? They certainly need to know about their son, if not two of their daughters.

YANBU to find it upsetting but YABU to not do anything about it, you saw a 17yo sibling snorting cocaine and you turned around and walked out of the door leaving them to it. You are allowing them to lead him astray through your inaction.
