went really skinny/tattooed. She looked good when she was plumper too. But on Sky News they're talking about her as if in recent years she looked like a raddled old witch. Obviously there are some ace pics, but still...I think she looked great.

bad, bad not ace. Obviously.

PeopleCallMeTricky · 24/07/2011 00:10

No, personally I think she looked ill, and as if she wasn't looking after herself, which sadly has proved to be the case. Didn't she have a history of anorexia too?

PeopleCallMeTricky · 24/07/2011 00:11

She still looked very young though, was that what you meant?

DooinMeCleanin · 24/07/2011 00:11

I think she was a very pretty young woman with or without the tattoos, but she did look ill when she was at her thinnest.

duckdodgers · 24/07/2011 00:12

No, she looked starved.

DuelingFanjo · 24/07/2011 00:14

there was a period after her divorce and before her recent troubles when she looked much healthier than she had done for ages but compared to how she looked during the release of her first album I think she looked very unwell for many years.

AgainWhen · 24/07/2011 00:14

No. I just genuinely think she looked really stunning. Like a punky Maria Callas.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 24/07/2011 00:14

Drug and alcohol problems, and bulimia, aren't a really great look. It effects the whole way you look, and that was evident.

She wasn't looking well.

worraliberty · 24/07/2011 00:16

No I don't think she looked well at all and I hate tattoos on women anyway

The poor girl just looked very ill and very troubled

Bohica · 24/07/2011 00:16

No, she looked ill & deprived of nutricion.

RIP

AgainWhen · 24/07/2011 00:20

Really? I really hadn't thought I was being unreasonable.

OP posts:
MumblingRagDoll · 24/07/2011 00:23

She had an air of glamour which stayed in spite of her emaciated body. It was that which you could see...not that she looked "good" per se....but that she was a person with magnetism.

SiamoFottuti · 24/07/2011 00:35

yeah, cos being a poster child for mental illness and drug addiction really gives one that je ne sais quoi, don't you think? Hmm

Like thats an appropriate thought anyway right now. FFS.

GothAnneGeddes · 24/07/2011 00:41

She looked absolutely gorgeous in the artwork for 'Frank'. I was shocked when I first saw Rehab, I couldn't understand why she'd diet such a gorgeous figure away. Sad

CurrySpice · 24/07/2011 00:44

Hmmm, I think to start a post debating the attractiveness of a young woman who has died today is totally unreasonable and not a little goulish :(

op have my first ever Biscuit because this thread disgusts me

AgainWhen · 24/07/2011 00:51

I suppose I thought that Sky News were being unreasonable and wondered if others agreed with me.

OP posts:
CurrySpice · 24/07/2011 01:18

Yeah right. Blame it on Sky News. You started a thread about when a girl who died tonight looked most attractive. Whatever!

madhattershouse · 24/07/2011 01:22

againwhen Do you think you may have a problem?? She was seriously ill for years and you say she looked good????? She looked great 10 years ago when she burst onto the scene..but an emaciated and drug fuelled person never looks good IMO!

pictish · 24/07/2011 01:24

mmm yes....looking stunning here....

pictish · 24/07/2011 01:36

How I will prefer to remember her.

Goodybye Amy xxx

ifancyashandy · 24/07/2011 02:02

Saw some footage of her tonight - post 'Back to Black' and maybe post 'Rehab', and she looked glowing. Gorgeous skin, sparkly eyes and just .... happy. Almost peaches and cream. Made me very sad to see how alive she could be.

TheLadyEvenstar · 24/07/2011 02:27

What is terrible is that even now she is dead she is still going to be hounded only now it will be her memory and her family. We have seen it time and again.

Talent wise she cannot ever be faulted and who do we really hold responsible for the addictions?

Family
Friends
Management - who despite having to have been very aware of the problems she faced and the danger she was putting herself in STILL promoted her, shoved her on stage - basically they wound her up and let her go.

Just another case of too much too soon Sad

pigletmania · 24/07/2011 09:07

YABVU, Amy did not look good throughout her career, she looked sick, and unhealthy. In recent times she did start to look healthier and I really thought that she was beating drink/drugs. I agree with others, the only time when she looked truely good is at the start of her career.

pigletmania · 24/07/2011 09:08

There is no harm with the op discussing Amy, it is whats happening at the moment as people are coming to terms with the death of a great singer and performer.

duckdodgers · 24/07/2011 09:57

Im not having a go at you OP but it worries me that you thought she looked good. We live in a very strange demanding world at the best of times regarding what can be seen as attractive, and people with body image issues are easily vulnerable to this. I am not naive to blame eating disorders entirely on this but it certainly does contribute.
