To enjoy being alone or an I an antisocial bugger

DH gone camping (OK not very 'D' as we had words last night, but he was thinking of going camping anyway so am not fussed in the least) and DD and DSS x2 both away on hols.

I have the remote, I will be getting something nice for the bath, some chocolates and some wine. A friend has been in touch wanting to go for coffee tomorrow morning. Would much prefer a morning on my own with the papers and endless mugs of tea. AIBU to want to spend all of the time I have available on my own? Or might I turn into a hairy hermit in a cave?

YANBU. My favourite day of the week is Monday. After a weekend of dh and dcs, to close the front door after dropping the dc at school and just be quiet for a few hours really makes me happy.

I believe it is necessary for my mental health to sit around doing nothing in the quiet have this time alone. Smile

YANBU!!

My DP went away yesterday and is back tomorrow, and I'm LOVING being on my own :o

My brother called me and asked if I wanted to do something with him and his wife tonight but I really just want to potter about the house, chill out and do nothing very much at all :)

I liek my own company, I might watch a film, have a bath, read the papers, do some crocheting, but nothing that invoves leaving the house or socialising

Oh no, hermit-time is essential for one's wellbeing. Make excuses for tomorrow and carry on. You can meet you friend anytime, when the family are about. Veg out and enjoy! Grin

Electricsoftparade, yeah, I agree, I think it's good for my mental health to have some proper me chill out time too, I've done too much and been around too many people lately and I end up feeling all agitated

and no, YANBU. As a classic introvert, I'd go nuts if I didn't have a bit of quiet time to myself. Sounds like a fab way to spend your time.

Not at all, ive been like this for years tbh, when I was 19 I moved into my own flat and got sick of people calling round in the evening because they assumed I needed company- I loved getting showered and settling down for the evening to watch telly- alone!

YANBU. I long to have the house to myself. I work late quite often and travel for work about once a month, so the husband gets plenty of time to himself. I would love him to give me the odd night in alone, but he is a homebody. :(

YANBU- I adore my own space,always have. An (ex) friend of mine simply couldn't exist on her own. Always had to have company day and night Confused

yaDnbu - as i type this dh and dd have gone camping whilst i am at home working/chilling out (i work from home/am self employed). i have always been a solitary person but have got worse over the years, don't like spending time with large groups of people socially, don't much care how it looks as people are quick to comment/criticise. enjoy yourself, i have been watching barefoot in the park (movie) and have eaten a large milkybar!!

I have been and bought wine and lovely new wine glasses (as opposed to mother in laws raffle prize ones we have been using which are sort of faceted and arent nice aganist your lips IYKWIM). Nice cheeses, nibbly bits, strawberries, rose petal harissa to have with my couscous (oh the extravagance) oh and some New Covent Garden gazpacho.

Bliss.

YANBU, I like time to myself too! The other week my dh was away on business and I was supposed to be going out for a meal with a friend in the evening, so the dc's were at my mum's. My friend had to cancel as she came down with a horrible bug the night before so I thought I'd go out for a bit anyway.

I went along to the beach early evening, bought some lovely seafood and sparkling wine as takeaway from one of the stalls, sat on bench and enjoyed it overlooking the sea, then on my way home found a coffee bar that was still open (8 pm ish so unusual), ordered a mini dessert and coffee and sat with magazine just enjoying the peace.

Got home around 9 pm, quiet house, telly and laptop to myself and earlyish night with nobody waking up as I came up the stairs wanting drinks etc, felt very relaxed! Did feel slightly guilty for enjoying it so much but thought well why not?!

I LOVE time on my own. I'll sometimes book a day off work when DH is working & DS is at school just so I can have some time to myself to read/chill etc

I've just come back from a three day break by myself - went to Yorkshire and left DH and nine month old. He's not working at the moment so it didn't inconvenience him and he didn't mind. I loved it. It was utter utter bliss and I felt like ME again. I had forgotten who I was after months of everything being centred around the baby and what he needed.

I explored the history of the city I was in, walked miles exploring the area, took in all the sights, shopped, ate HOT FOOD, drank HOT TEA, no one was sick or dribbly on me, and I went to bed early every night, after watching what I wanted on TV, rather than anyone else's choice, and read my book. I was so hermitty that I didn't even like to get the lift in the hotel in case anyone spoke to me and tried to make idle chit chat! Grin. I do have lots of friends but I am an only child and generally like other people in small doses, more so as I get older but I am comfortable with that. I have promised myself that I will do a break like that at least 2-3 times a year. Don't feel bad OP!!

I love, love, love time on my own. I think that's how my marriage (to a soldier) lasted when others failed.

I love the bed to myself, the tv, the shopping list, quiet, reading, browsing online....browsing anywhere.....aaahhh

I would love some complete alone time. Not happening for a while. Nearest I get is when the kids are asleep and DS is usually asleep on me. YANBU.

I adore my own company. I often take myself to lunch or dinner and go to the cinema on my own. My dh found this quite strang at the beginning of our relationship, but he is used to it now.

YANBU - my fiance is away for the weekend and I am having such a nice, quiet time. Clean house, bed to myself, able to watch reruns of 1995 Krypton Factor lol...bliss!

Don't go for the coffee, enjoy your me time!
