AIBU about DH?

JackTheNipper · 15/06/2011 20:21

I'm pre-menstral so my emotions are a little everywhere, and I don't know if I am being unfairly pissed off at him or not.
Anyway DH was invited to a leaving do which involved one of thoes fish pedicures, he asked if I would like to come too, as I kind of know them and they would like to see DS. So I said I would.
So they all have their pedicures and DS and I watch for 15 mins, The rest of the group were going on to have dinner in a restaurant, DH said he wasn't interested.
So we get to the car park put the token in display shows 1hr 1min, and charged us the under and hr rate, I said that was lucky! DH tries to pay the machine but his pound keeps getting rejected I said I have a pound and take out my purse but before I did he has a hissy fit with the machine and presses cancel, he then puts the token back in and now displays 1hr 2mins and double the price!!
(Getting to the point now) AIBU to think that DH should have offered to go back in and let me have a pedicure as 1) we have already paid for the extra hr and 2) I have wanted a fish pedicure for over a year and then he dangles this infront of me and doesn't even offer to get my feet done while he looks after DS?
Please be gentle VERY hormonal and incapable of rational judgement!

YABU-if you wanted a fish pedicure(yuk) then why did you not just say so?.

cerealqueen · 15/06/2011 20:25

He invites you to WATCH people have pedicures? Odd.
Why didn't you just say 'I've always fancied one and have one??' He could have watched DS!

FabbyChic · 15/06/2011 20:26

Why did you even leave before you had one? Sorry but you should not have left if you wanted one, seeing as you had left pointless going back.

PikaTYchu · 15/06/2011 20:26

I think YANBU. He should of known you would of wanted a pedicure too.
But one thing my mum taught me is that men never 'get' hints. Tell them straight out what you want.

JackTheNipper · 15/06/2011 21:13

mmmm, I thought so. He invited me to watch as it would be the only family time we would have together that day and I've been under a lot of stress latley and just wanted to get out of the house that only me and DS were in, and as I knew some of the people they didn't mind me coming.
I would have thought he would have offered for me to have one without me asking he is normally considerate, it just really upset me but then the hormones!
I should have said that I wanted a go, he generally doesn't get hints. I have a face like a smacked arse now and I can't shift it. Hmm

You should have said you wanted one. YABU.

Although it's very bizarre to get invited along just to watch.

And YABU to want a fish pedicure, ewwww. Grin

JackTheNipper · 15/06/2011 21:22

I know, I know eeeeewwwww, but still would like the experiance just to say yes I've done it!
AND It didn't help when everyone was commenting on how lovely their hands and feet were Envy AND DH made me touch his eaten feet Envy

OP posts:
AmberLeaf · 15/06/2011 21:29

YABU because you should have said you wanted one before!

AnyFucker · 15/06/2011 21:34

you sound quite, quite strange

why didn't you just get your purse out and pay for the pedicure ?

how strangely passive to sit and watch everyone else then get upset because the parking machine went wrong Confused

JackTheNipper · 15/06/2011 21:47

I know IABU, but and 100% blaming the premenstral-ness!
It wasn't the parking machine that went wrong that was the issue, it was DH impatience, then it costing nearly £5 for that extra minute! If it wasn't for that I wouldn't be bothered about not getting the pedicure but the fact that we paid for the extra hour for nothing got to me! and of course it DH fault, I know irrational thats why I needed the level headed MN perspective Grin will say sorry and make up with DH Smile

good on ya, but blaming strange passive aggressive behaviour on "hormones" does you, nor the rest of womankind, no favours at all

amIbeingdaft · 15/06/2011 21:56

I agree with AnyFucker.

ENormaSnob · 15/06/2011 21:57

You really went along to watch your dh and his colleagues have a fish pedicure?

That is one of the oddest thing I've ever heard.

JackTheNipper · 15/06/2011 22:14

I've explained why I went, I don't know why you think spending some time with my dh and some people I know is strange. I couldn't participate with them as I was looking after ds.

Ok maybe not entirely my hormones, but i hate paying nearly double for something for one moments impatience I can't be alone in that can I?

How do you know the fish though? That's the weirdest bit.

JackTheNipper · 15/06/2011 22:20

I don't get it?

MumblingRagDoll · 15/06/2011 22:21

Pa ha ha ha! Jackthenipper!

ellodarlin · 15/06/2011 22:22

If you have sat in a pedicure place for getting on for an hour (or any time at all) without having a pedicure I don't see why anyone should be offering to take you back in to get a pedicure just because you still have an hour on your parking. Its reasonable to assume you didn't want a pedicure having left the pedicure establishment without one.

Ephiny · 15/06/2011 22:24

I don't understand why you couldn't suggest going back in if you wanted to, he can't be expected to read your mind! What exactly was the 'hint' that he failed to get, you don't mention it in your post.

Aren't those the fish pedicures that spread nasty diseases? Lucky escape if you ask me.

I asked several times what it felt like which was hint 1 then I looked longingly at the shop as we passed it going to the car park I know dh can't read minds But I thought he might just offer. Nevermind I was wrong hey ho Smile

What diseases do they spread and no hand on heart not a wind up frequent name changer and habitual lurker!
