Just being friendly or something more sinister?

My friend and I are away from home for a few days visiting my friends new niece.

Last night my friend got a phone call from her DH, he is at home with their Dd. He informed her that another female friend of hers,lets call her X, rang him last night. He does not know X very well but she asked him if he would be able to give her a lift that evening, if he was visiting his mother, because she would like to visit her aunt , who lives near his mother. ( the aunt and mother know each other.)

X has a car but it is in the garage.

My friend knows that X's husband is working away at the moment. My friends Dh explained he was not visiting his mother and so could not offer her a lift.

He rang his mother to ask if she had told X's aunt to approach him re. the lift, but she knew nothing about it. His mother has never met X either.

My friend is quite upset about this approach to her husband. X has never asked for lifts before. Is she bu to feel a bit suspicious about this woman's behaviour?

Should have said X is a friend of my friend and a close neighbour.

Is X single? Does she fancy your friends hubby and is she the type to go for a friends husband? Ask yourself that

It doesn't sound particularly worrying surely? This X knows the husband's mum lives near her aunt so asks for a lift? Why is it worrying or suspicious? Is there more to it?
Mind you I tend to take things at face value and would assume she wants a lift.

I'm not seeing any great seduction attempt, tbh. Unless she asked for a lift while giggling and twiddling her hair.

X has a husband, no children, but he works away a few nights a week. My friend thinks he is away at the moment.
X knows my friend is away from home visiting the new baby.

It doesn't sound remotely sinister to me, just a little cheeky perhaps (ringing up to ask someone a favour when you don't know tham that well). Has this man form for cheating? If not, you are being ridiculously paranoid and need to get a grip. The rest of the world is not out to threaten your monogamy just because you are not actually staring at your H every minute of the day.

A little bit strange of her to ask so out of the blue. Bit cheeky too. Maybe she has an interest in your friend's DH, but that means nothing if your friend's DH is uninterested back.

Ultimately nothing to worry about I think. Just perhaps a reason for X to feel a bit silly when she realises that you all know she tested the water asked for a lift and got knocked back.

Still doesn't sound particularly suspicious though - unless she's constantly flirting with your friend's husband or making passes at him or something.

You say that, SGB, but I still prefer to keep DH tied to a radiator.

I don't even necessarily think it's that cheeky. She's friends with your friend, she knows the husband might have been visiting his mum near her aunt, she asks for a lift. She may have offered to split petrol money etc.

No X wants to go and see her aunt. Altogether more sinister.

We need to know more about 'the aunt'. Is it code for dogging near the rec?

Also, what was she planning on doing with her children on this SO CALLED AUNT VISIT? (This might have been answered, but I seem to be struggling to understand the whole thing)

Hully She does, but she is not a spring chicken. I would class her look as aging vamp. But then I can be a bit catty!
My friend says she is not worried about her Dh but she's just starting to wonder if this "friend" is really a friend after all.
