...two reasons:

  1. that speech she gave last time she was here, to a girls school (?) in south (north?) London
  1. her cuddling the Queen, and the Queen cuddling her back

IKWYM.

and the way she got excited about meeting the queen, and the way she smiles.

notnowbernard · 24/05/2011 20:01

She comes across as very likeable, doesn't she

Not twee, not smug, not saccharine, just likeable

I like her Grin

SpringHeeledJack · 24/05/2011 20:04

I don't even like the queen

...well, I didn't. Till she cuddled Michelle Obama

i agree i think everyone has fallen in love with them both i know i have

Gandalfthedyed · 24/05/2011 20:21

I adore the queen and I adore Michelle Obama.

Sigh. I would love to cuddle them both!

BellaBearisWideAwake · 24/05/2011 20:22

It was Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in north London.

Callisto · 24/05/2011 20:24

I totally adore Michelle Obama - she is utterly iconic, beautiful in her own, unique way and seems completely normal too, if that's possible.

BelovedCunt · 24/05/2011 20:25

it is weird to cry though

SarfEasticated · 24/05/2011 20:25

I love them too

mrsbunnthebaker · 24/05/2011 20:27

jeez, nutters thread alert

K999 · 24/05/2011 20:28

Sorry, but I don't get it?? I watched his speech last night, addressing the Irish crowd and I cringed......

lady007pink · 24/05/2011 20:29

She comes across as a lovely, genuine person! And she is so, so beautiful - even came across a web photo of her caught without make-up and she still looks stunning.

jessikart · 24/05/2011 20:35

I get a bit tearful when I see her meeting someone and they clearly adore her. Blush She is an amazing woman IMO - did anyone else read the 'Love Letter to Michelle' in The Grauniad this week?

SpringHeeledJack · 24/05/2011 20:47

conversation with dp earlier, reading the paper

me: ooh, I wonder if Michelle Obama will visit ds's [inner London] school? she did one last time, after all

dp: hmmm

[pause]

dp:...are you crying?

me: a bit

K999 · 24/05/2011 20:56

Yup, you're all mad! Grin

FellatioNelson · 24/05/2011 21:00

Confused Yeah. She's really nice.

WTF?

FellatioNelson · 24/05/2011 21:02

I gift you this

SpringHeeledJack · 24/05/2011 21:08

eeeeeeeeeeeek!

I cry at a lot of less worthy things, I have to say. In the last month I have cried at, amongst others:

  1. a Dutch theme park (everyone's so happy)
  1. Plan B album [baffled]
  1. A tiny bit of Lady Gaga concert tother night (dp asked me if I was crying. I said I had something in my eye)

LaurieFairyCake · 24/05/2011 21:10

Oh I love her too - total girl non-sexual crush - she's just so damn nice seeming.

expatinscotland · 24/05/2011 21:12

She's a Princeton-educated lady who became a top lawyer and has a real career. Unlike someone who waited around for 10 years for someone to propose to them :o.

At 47, she looks terrific, not full of fillers, Botox and face-lifted to hell.

She has an athletic physique that doesn't look starved or lipo'd out.

She's got a mega watt smile.

She's married to Barack Envy.

K999 · 24/05/2011 21:14

You lot need to get out more......I'm sure she's nice and all but crying???....weird......

PoweredbyTea · 24/05/2011 21:17

YANBU! I'm not quite crying but I do love her. Did anyone see the picture of her and Barack coming out of a plane on the way here? (I think it was in the Evening Standard today and prob other places too.) He was looking at her as though he just adored her, and they've been together ages. They're a great couple.

PoweredbyTea · 24/05/2011 21:19

Also just noticed expat's comment: Unlike someone who waited around for 10 years for someone to propose to them.

She does rather kick the new duchess into the long grass!
