...two reasons:

  1. that speech she gave last time she was here, to a girls school (?) in south (north?) London
  1. her cuddling the Queen, and the Queen cuddling her back

She's beautiful, supremely intelligent and married to a man who obviously loves her.

My dd wants to be like her

GwendolineMaryLacey · 24/05/2011 21:29

Bonkers....absolutely bonkers.... Is there a thread for sane people? :o

Pictish · 24/05/2011 21:39

chubbly · 24/05/2011 21:51

Yanbu do you think she'll do a Hilary and run for president in years to come?

flibbertigibbert · 24/05/2011 22:03

I love her to bits. And I SAW her today! Coming out of Westminster Abbey. I got tearful about that.

She's absolutely gorgeous and her success is so inspiring. And the way her and Barack look at each other........

SybilBeddows · 24/05/2011 22:05

oh look, she's between Charles and Philip at the state banquet. Barack gets to sit between HM and Camilla.

handsomeharry · 24/05/2011 22:08

I think she is amazing and totally agree with expat

Um, don't think I'll be crying though. Grin

NormanTebbit · 24/05/2011 22:09

She looks stunning. I loved the pink cardie blue dress combo. She looks every inch a woman who commands respect.

They are just perfect, aren't they.

BelovedCunt · 24/05/2011 22:09

seeing barack obama and his wife amongst that crowd of barely animated wax works is like a bad episode of dr who

NormanTebbit · 24/05/2011 22:10

What do they talk about at state banquets?

SybilBeddows · 24/05/2011 22:11

LOL BelovedCunt.

pinkthechaffinch · 24/05/2011 22:17

They are wonderful

am getting the clippers out at the weekend to trim ds' afro into a 'Barack' Grin

LadyBeagleEyes · 24/05/2011 22:22

Well, I sort of agree with the OP.
It does't make me cry, but I remember on the last visit when she put her arm round the Queen, and the Obamas looked so beautiful and the Queen and Philip looked like two very sweet oaps. It's the first time I ever warmed to them.

Erm she's great and everything but what's all this crying about?? Grin

Lovecat · 24/05/2011 23:37

Crying? Really?

Nothing against the woman, but every shot of her on the news tonight she had a right petted lip on her. Even DH noticed it, so she must have looked well pissed off about something!

MCos · 24/05/2011 23:53

They don't make me cry. But I do think they are fab.
Nothing weird about this thread to me...

NoelEdmondshair · 25/05/2011 00:07

No need to take a pop at Princess Kate Angry She looked lovely and slim and stylish standing next to the bulky, badly dressed First Lady.

aleene · 25/05/2011 00:12

Blimey, handbags at dawn! Stand back!

I shall look at Michelle in a new light now but probably won't cry

KittySpencer · 25/05/2011 00:40

I always think they both seem lovely Blush

She is v bright, but also comes across as a really nice, genuine, person. Something that Hilary Clinton and Cherie Blair never managed to convey. Or SamCam who seems ok, but not really someone you'd want to be friends with.

Unlike the fab Michelle Grin.
