no, toast crumbs in the sheets, yuck

kitbit · 21/05/2011 18:55

I love the thought but hate crumbs in the bed cos it's me that has to clean them out hmph

emkana · 21/05/2011 18:56

Yanbu

I would like to quote the lovely german saying

Wer nie sein Brot im Bette ass weiss niche wie Kruemel pieken.

ManicAnnie · 21/05/2011 18:57

Rarely get it, but bloody love it when I do. Stick Andrew marr on the telly, get the Sunday papers and munch on toast = life at it's best Grin

Do you not have sex in your bed because you don't want the sheets to get sticky? Wink

AgentZigzag · 21/05/2011 18:58

I hate it too, and having a cuppa as well.

I either want to sleep more or get up in the morning.

Who's offensively offering you breakfast in bed then?

The rogues Grin

ZZZenAgain · 21/05/2011 18:58

fatlazymummy · 21/05/2011 18:59

I don't know. I've never had breakfast in bed and it's not something that appeals to me.

bibbitybobbityhat · 21/05/2011 19:00

Have never done it. Will never do it.

ChippingIn · 21/05/2011 19:00

I don't have a telly in my room, I don't have anything round me to look at apart from my work desk, so it's not exactly fun.
Plus toast crumbs in the bed, and not havign anywhere to put your coffee. I mean, you can't eat cereal, drink coffee and read papers/a book without something going over a pillow, or you. And not ina good wayGrin.

DD1 has been told by loads of people that she needs to make me breakfast in bed tomorrow as it's my birthday, but I'd rather have a lie in and a nice coffee and toast when I finally wake up.

That's the really irritating thing, is someone bringing you breakfast when you azren't ready for it, and then you can't go back to sleep because you have just had a coffee. It's STUPID and I don't want one!

(oh, and yes, I am aware my diamond shoes are too tight)

ZZZZen, how do you drink coffee while lying in bed? It's just not possible with the lovely gorgeous cappucino's DH makes. You have to be upright, therefore wrenching yourself up ina position that the pillows and the bed do not support. ugh.

YANBU, I always wake up bursting for a pee and by the time I have got up and walked to the bathroom there doesn't seem much point in walking back to the bedroom as it is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs next to the kitchen and living room. Breakfast in bed just seems pointless to me, I would prefer to eat it in the living room like I do every morning.

shinyshoes · 21/05/2011 19:21

How comes everyone looks so comfy, drinking their coffee and browsing the papers. I can never get that comfy sitting up in my bed

i can't eat in bed it's so John mCcririck

SingleFosterMum · 21/05/2011 19:22

I make breakfast in bed for myself and my 2 year old ds sometimes.
It's great.. we have cereal, toast, tea (for me) milk for him.

I have a table next to my bed (like most people no?) so put things on there.
Put a towel on ds's knee for any spills.
He watches cbeebies and I read. bliss

SingleFosterMum · 21/05/2011 19:23

It's cosy and comfy that's why I like it. Pre ds I'd have breakfast in bed every weekend .

LittleMissFlustered · 21/05/2011 19:23

Breakfast out is the way to go, then some other sod has the dishes and kitchen disasters to deal with :o

SingleFosterMum · 21/05/2011 19:24

3 pillows make it very comfy.

Cocoflower · 21/05/2011 19:24

Do it every morning & love it!

MooMooFarm · 21/05/2011 19:25

I love a cup of tea delivered to my bedside - but breakfast - pah. I never feel like eating until I've been up an hour or so anyway.

Ilythia · 21/05/2011 19:27

I have a table next to my bed, it's got my work and clock and lamp and books and phone on it, so some bugger comes in with a tray and I have to launch up and move all my stuff, while sorting the pillows out, and I don't have enough pillows tfor it to be comfy as I only sleep with one, and then you are stuck. Last time I picked up the tray and came downstairs for company. Never Again.

And whoever mentioned not havign sex in case it gets the sheets dirty, there is a difference between sex stains and toast crumbsGrin

I just cant stomach anything other than coffee before around 11.30am...yet every Mother's Day/Birthday and even last Sunday 'just for the hell of it' I get breakfast in bed made by my kids.

I thank them, tell them how lovely it all is and then send them downstairs whilst I tip it discretely into a carrier bag and slip it into the wheelie bin Blush
