To say I'll start the diet tomorrow?

Because I've been soooo good today. Drinking those horrible slimfast milkshakes. Sacrifing chilli and cheese on my jacket potato for lunch, and having just cottage cheese instead. And while DS has been munching on a digestive biscuit, I'm stuck with carrot sticks, as we're out of fruit...

So, to make matters worse, got in a while back, and the pizza hut menu has been delivered... I can postpone the diet, right? Come on, get your judgey pants on... Pick up that gavel... Grin AIBU?

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!

Why put today's efforts to waste....tut tut...don't even go there!

Be good for a week and then have a naughty day and treat yourself to that Pizza!

When dieting I always allow myself 1 naughty day a week...and I still lose the weight.

worraliberty · 19/05/2011 19:09

You're going to have to toughen up if you want to lose weight and keep it off. There will always be menus and other temptations.

DontCallMePeanut · 19/05/2011 19:10

Even sausages and marmalade sound tempting... :(

And to make matters worse, I've put on 2 pounds over the course of five hours... How is that faiiiiir? Sad

DontCallMePeanut · 19/05/2011 19:13

Ooh...

If I could just get back iinto my pink dress, I'd be happy. But it looks so skinny these days... It's only a dress size, but stilll...

LOL.....it's quite a combination. TRY it on one of your naughty days...

Chuck away the leaflet...Dominoes is miles better (in my humble opinion).

2 pounds is fluid or summat....exercise loads, cut right down on carbs...and YOU CAN DO IT!

sausagesandmarmelade · 19/05/2011 19:15

and weigh yourself just once a week....put the scales away

cyb · 19/05/2011 19:18

Dont drink those vile shakes you silly billy

COCKadoodledooo · 19/05/2011 19:20

How much do you have to lose? How much have you eaten today compared with what you usually eat? Have you exercised? How's your willpower? COuld you buy a pizza and only eat half of it for instance? [/devil's advocate]

And don't weigh yourself more than once in a day!

DontCallMePeanut · 19/05/2011 19:23

What's better than those shakes, Cyb? My ex-SIL reccommended them.

I agree about dominoes... Grin but it depends on my mood, really...

Only once a week?

Today, I've done quite a bit of walking, but heading to the gym when DS is at nursery tomorrow. I want to try lose a stone and a half.

Willpower tends to vary. I managed to quit smoking in one go. I can go out and not drink alcohol. And could probably do that with the pizza... Would just be a small one anyway and my appetites not huuuge generally, just I have a habit of comfort eating.

Slimming World has been so successful I'm becoming quite the evangelist. You eat normal food, lots of it, mainly fruit and veg, meats, rice, pasta, potatoes.... milk and bread/grains in moderation and fats and sugars very sparsely. Okay you can't have dominos, but you can have something you fancy every day (a glass of wine and a curly whirly for me).

Make a shake, then leave it in the glass. Go back to it the next morning. Would you still drink that shit????

I've lost 16lbs in just over 2 months and had a holiday... its a 'diet' I can see me sticking too forever, when you hit target you simply up your more starchy veg and your good fats so you can maintain.

Its my birthday tomorrow and I am having cake... I've saved my 'syns' (for synergy not sins for BAD, though they are the foods that pile on the weight if not monitored) and so it won't affect my weightloss.

Its how we're supposed to eat, its liberating, and I've not been hungry yet.

Will get of my soap box now.

DontCallMePeanut · 19/05/2011 19:43

Oooh, I might give the SlimmingWorld thing a go.

I was thinking earlier, how lovely it would be if someone could invent a device that takes the weight off your backside and hips, and IF you want it elsewhere... Well, my chest has always been a bit flat Grin

'Whats better than those shakes?'

Erm, wallpaper paste, cat litter, just about anything!

They are a short term fix that will get you back to square one before you knwo where you are. I ahve lost 7 lbs in about 3 1/2 weeks just by stopping snacking in between meals. No biscuits, no sugar in drinks, hardly any bread.

It was easy. i'm still losing about a lb a week. I'm going to stop eating like a greedy cow and eat like slim person F O R E V E R

Your head HAS to be in the right place

cyb · 19/05/2011 19:50

FWIW a slim person would have one or 2 slices of pizza with lots of salad, they woudlnt gorge on the entire thing. So you can have it, just not PIG portions

DontCallMePeanut · 19/05/2011 19:53

Grin I take it you're a fan of those shakes, Cyb?

OP posts:
cyb · 19/05/2011 19:55

Urgh would rather drink vomit

DontCallMePeanut · 19/05/2011 19:58

Right, I think I might try one of those plans (weightwatchers/slimming world) as I do know I need a kick up the arse a bit of added motivation on occassions. But is Slimming World the best? Any other reccommendations?

have a look at food focus and it is free to

PercyPigPie · 19/05/2011 20:04

Yes, you are. Tonight you will eat the amount of calories that will take you a week and a half to loose again. Been there, got the t-shirt.

SmallSherryforMedicinal · 19/05/2011 20:12

Take a look at the MyFitnessPal app or website, totally free. You can track your own progress, weight, measurements, foods, exercise everything.
The key is to persevere. Good luck :)

DontCallMePeanut · 19/05/2011 20:22

Thank you :) Have signed up to Food Focus. :)
