AIBU?

To think that [hug] is, in fact, quite Mumsnet?

Every second bloody thread features an offer of a very un mn [hug].

So it's not really un mn anymore, is it?

Giving cyber 'hugs' is second only in sad bastardness to actually asking for cyber 'hugs' Hmm

If people typing 4 letters on a screen, wrapped in some brackets makes a person feel 'hugged' I think they need to switch off and visit the real world a bit more Grin

It's the "un MN-like" prefix that's all important. It's some kind of social identity thing...

I suspect posters are scared to give hugs without the prefix .

Especially on AIBU .

Strange to believe itWink ,but many people are housebound they can't get out ,some people hang on to this type of interaction as its all they have .

No shame .

Sometimes I think people on here feel like they have developed a higher breed message board ...its not ,its cool ~but it is still a message board! Grin

I can handle hugs. A bit sickly but sometimes appropriate.

It's 'hun' that makes me get a bit skin-prickly.
