I've missed it so much.
It broke on Wednesday. I phoned Amazon who sent a replacement no questions asked. But I had to live two days without it.

My new one just arrived and I am sitting watching it charge with what dh says is a soppy grin on my face.

Well I'm not BU am I?. He just doesn't understand the luurve.

I was devastated when mine broke...it was on a Thursday...I remember it well.
I phoned them on Friday, and the new one was due to arrive on Tuesday, but I had uni Tuesday and Wednesday, so was looking at a whole week without it (no way I could get back in time for the PO.) I was horrified.
Luckily it arrived on Monday, whilst I was taking dd to school. So I picked it up when picking her up!!!!
I was so happy. She thought I'd gone loopy, especially when I wouldn't let her carry it home in case she dropped it.

YANBU! My kindle crashed for about an hour or so once and I was distraught going online trying to find out how to fix it! DH tried to put his arms around me and I shrieked "Now is NOT the time!" like a hysterical harpie!

Definitely couldn't cope if i had to wait more than a day! Smile

MaeMobley · 14/05/2011 13:03

YANBU. Tis a fab invention.

maryjane71 · 14/05/2011 13:20

YANBU - I love mine too Grin

Spudulika · 14/05/2011 13:53

Got mine on Monday and have managed to get biro ink on it already. Sad

Not on the screen but on the surround (biro burst in my bag).

Feel guilty because 'tis a lovely thing.

Spudulika · 14/05/2011 13:54

What do you have on yours other than books?

All I've bought is some poetry and the new Crimson Petal stories (read Crimson Petal last month and have been starving for more)

irishqueen · 14/05/2011 13:55

AuntieBranflake · 14/05/2011 14:12

YABU - damned things battery is always running out just when I need it - e.g. 30 seconds into a 2 hour GTT wait Grin.

IhateMarlo · 14/05/2011 16:52

And yelling at OH [when drunk] at DARING to touch my darling Kindle

IhateMarlo · 14/05/2011 16:53

CurrySpice · 14/05/2011 16:56

YANBU. I too have the kindle love

IhateMarlo · 14/05/2011 16:57

Blush emmmmmmm where's the Kindle thread?

CurrySpice · 14/05/2011 16:59

I won't let the kids touch mine Shock it's mommy's toy!

I am dying to go away at the end of May and I am litterally dribbling at the thought of a whole week of kindling

CurrySpice · 14/05/2011 17:00

And I spent 10 minutes making DP admire it last week. I kept having to say "But isn't the screen AMAZING!" about 40 times because I didn't feel he was expressing a suitable amount of admiration!

muddyangels123 · 14/05/2011 17:06

YANBU. I love mine soooooooo much Blush

I have spent this afternoon reading it while DD was at a party.Smile

Jaquelinehyde · 14/05/2011 17:10

Oooh I love mine and I have only had it a week today.

The children are not allowed near it, neither is DH it is mine, mine, mine and I love it.

Curry - I'm due to have an operation over the summer and I am gagging to get under the surgeons knife just so I can spend a few days post op in a hospital bed with my Kindle. Heaven!

Sheepasaurus · 14/05/2011 17:18

I too love my kindle. Even if I don't have time to read for a while I just like knowing it is waiting for me in my bag, tucked up all snuggly in it's pink case.

knockinonyerdoor · 14/05/2011 17:19

Kindle thread? I have to find that!

I've had mine for two weeks. I keep stroking it too Blush

goldtinsel · 14/05/2011 17:23

I know it's not the same but you can have 3 devices linked to your account so if your Kindle is sick you can keep reading the books you already bought on a PC or phone...the stroking is NOT satisfying on these of course.

GoodDaysBadDays · 14/05/2011 17:36

I don't own one but Dh does and broke his yesterday. He is distraught. Haven't had a chance to look at amazon yet but was concerned it might be a struggle to replace. Going by this thread it sounds as though amazon are pretty good in thus dept. Fingers crossed....

Oh and yanbu, I see the look if love in dh's eyes when he looks at his.

(of kindle owners not the love dh has for his!)

My2 · 14/05/2011 17:43

YANBU - i am now worried that so many are breaking! have had mine since xmas 2010 and wouldn't be without one now. :-)

GoodDaysBadDays · 14/05/2011 17:49

Dh is a heavy handed oaf my2, it is no reflection on product quality!

simpson · 14/05/2011 17:53

stickofrock · 14/05/2011 18:06

I've never even seen a kindle but I want to start reading again and am having problems with my glasses so I thought maybe a kindle would be good because I could make the writing bigger instead of wearing specs. Would that be a good idea ??
