I've missed it so much.
It broke on Wednesday. I phoned Amazon who sent a replacement no questions asked. But I had to live two days without it.

My new one just arrived and I am sitting watching it charge with what dh says is a soppy grin on my face.

Well I'm not BU am I?. He just doesn't understand the luurve.

Oh no, you are being perfectly reasonable and indeed sensible. I love love love my Kindle, especially being tucked up in bed reading by its super duper integral-to-the-case light and just soaking in its all round brilliance. All hail the Kindle.

My Kindle was on my bedside table.....perfectly safe, or so I thought.......until DH knocked a glass of water on it!!! Was he even remotely apologetic? No, his response was "it'll be fine, it's only a couple of drops". NOT HAPPY.
Fortunately it does seem to be ok still.

YABU. My Sony eReader is better than your Kindle. YABVU.

Mine also broke last week and the 3 day wait for its replacement was torture!
Have to say I am very impressed with Amazon.. no quibble, posted me another straight away.

I felt disloyal sending my broken one back tho and damn I wish I'd backed up all my not amazon acquired by various other means books...!

Just spent a very happy hour putting all the downloads into their right collections. It is now all tidy and organised.

Thanks, it hadn't occured to me to get one, I'm just feeling a bit brain dead and lazy due to evenings in front of the tv and think I should force myself to start reading again. I haven't read a book for about 10 years , is that shameful ?

I do find it a bit off putting how brackable they seem to be though, you all keep saying how they brake.

I bought one for DH for his birthday a month ago and apart from me setting it up and downloading a few novels for him, AFAIK he has not used it and yet I am not allowed to infest it with Chicklit.

Is there a utility which allows me to download a single page which says 'use it or lose it you gitwizard' onto it?

I love my Kindle! I have a little business making cases for them so mine has many beds to sleep in. It holds all my porn tasteful erotic littérateur. I use it all the time whenever I have a minutes wait anywhere.

I got mine this morning, even though my birthday isn't until next week, and I luff it soo much, off to kindle thread right now but spotted this thread first

YANBU. I'm quite surprised at how much I love mine. I've always thought they looked quite neat but DH got me one and I am hooked. My delinquent offspring will even bring it to me as a peace offering if they've been particularly appalling.

I've also stashed a load of work pdfs on it, very handy indeed.

I've had mine for less that 30 minutes (DP just came back from Tescos with it as a pressie for me) and I am in love already

My first Kindle broke (well the 3g stopped working) and Amazon were very good about it and sent a new one.

I had to have a moment with the old one before I sent him back, I may even have whispered "sorry" tearfully to him when I wrapped him up for his journey back to Amazon.

I know he was just an e reader to some but he was my first and shall always hold a little place in my heart.

I can vouch for Titsalina's kindle covers they are ace.

well damn I have just ordered a cover from amazon. I didn't realise we had MN approved covers

On the note of 3G, mine doesn't appear to be working, but how can I tell, there isn't a setting for it?
And DH got mine from tesco, so they better not piss me about if I want it replaced...
