Please can you help settle an argument between me and my husband. I am a vegetarian and he is a meat-eater. I don't mind us cooking separate meals or meaty/veggie versions of meals, but I don't think it's unreasonable to ask him to eat vegetarian meals some of the time, as much for cost reasons (meat is so expensive) as for the fact it would be nice to just cook one meal sometimes. AIBU?

jojo but as the OP says, she has moral reasons for not wanting to eat meat whereas her partner just has a preference for eating meat. Being veggie for most people is not about a preference and eating meat 'now and again' just isn't a realistic option. Agree with Fessa that bean stews and omelettes are just normal and not at all remarkable just because of their meat-free status.

I think if OP's partner was put in charge of the cooking, with the options of cooking her separate things or cooking them all meat-free meals, he'd revise his opinion pretty quickly.
