It has been a few months days since I last cleaned it so is in a bit of a state, and I can't face itBlush

And before GetOrfMyLand comes along, I know, I am a slattern and do worship at your High Priestess Altar of Good Housekeeping, :o but am just unworthy

Oven Pride, it comes with a plastic bag that you put in oven shelves and anything else removable (I put in the inner glass on my oven door) in and pour in some of the liquid. Seal the bag, make sure you coat what's inside the bag in the liquid and leave as per instructions. You can then use the remainder of the liquid to clean the inside of your oven. Works for me Grin

YANBU IMO. We do it.

OTOH I second the effectiveness of Oven Pride - my friend uses it and her oven comes up cleaner that ours does after a professional clean - just too lazy to do it myself Grin.

YA sooooooo NBU!!

Do it. I have, it would've taken me ages to get it as clean as they did.

YANBU Do it! The best £40 I've spent in a long time.

Oven Pride is the best supermarket oven cleaner if you'd rather not spend the money though. Although it doesn't bring it up as well as a professional and you do still need to spend quite a lot of time and elbow grease.

YADNBU. Cleaning ovens is gross. When I moved into my current flat the oven hadn't been cleaned since the Stone Age for a while and it took a whole bottle of lethal chemicals and most of a day to get it even basically clean.

Do they come round and just do the oven, and that's their job, cleaning ovens?

I didn't know such people existed.

I bought some oven cleaner 3 years ago when our pretty new over needed its first clean. Then realised I could not use it when pg. Over still has not been cleaned, is filthy and I am pg again.

Where do I find someone to clean it?

I love oven clean people. They take all the shelves out to the van and leave them to soak in 'stuff' while they attack the rest of the oven. So you have no nasty chemicals in the house. When they have finished, it looks like it has just come out of a showroom, and you can see through the little glass door! Money very well spent in my book.

Why would anyone want to clean an oven anyway?

Report

WuzzAndBuddy · 20/04/2011 17:57

And why would anyone choose a job that involved cleaning lots of ovens.... I think they may be mad... surely no one enjoys cleaning ovens!?

Report

WuzzAndBuddy · 20/04/2011 17:59

And how much are we talking for a lovely person to come and clean my oven...?

Report

grovel · 20/04/2011 18:00

About £50. They're always drop dead gorgeous (if you can get over the whiff of grease).

Report

Happymm · 20/04/2011 18:01

Think it's £40-£50? Not sure as haven't had done yet-but seriously planning on:o
