to be bloody pissed off?!

MIL wanted to take kids out for hour yesterday but then cancelled then told DH she'd have them today with other 2 grandkids (had issues with this before she can't HANDLE 5 kids uder 6)

So I told DH yesterday I didn't want the kids going today.

He didn't tell her,

cue her ringing all fucking morning and now DH has taken the kids round even though its a beautiful sunny day and I was really enjoying having them playing in the garden for the firsat time this year.

And because she can't handle them DH has to STAY there too so won't finish the fucking gardening now.

Plus DS1 is ill but refused to stay with me as he didn't want to miss out so has gone there even though hes unwell.

The other grandkids are well, a handful and my kids always come back with conjuncivitis (sp?!) after playing with them Hmm

Am just super pissed off.

And before anyone asks... no I didn't want to go too.

YABU

If the kids were happy to go and enjoy themselves with Gran and your DH was going with them to make sure they're all safe...that should be your first thought 'what do the kids want to do today'

If you chose not to go, that's up to you. Just put your feet up and chill out Smile

So I'm not allowed to make plans to have a chill with the kids, do some gardening have a BBQ because my MIL decides she wants them? Hmm

you could have asked mil to bring the other grandkids to yours , explaining that you wanted share the nice day with your kids in your garden.with a bbq ... would have been a nice gesture and compromie on your part .

doesnt their dad work??

you sound a bit selfish tbh! you begrudge the dc time with their gran and their dad? when you have them off school at home for next god knows how long!

They only have a week off this easter, am due baby very soon though so was hoping to get a few nice days in before he arrives. DH isn't at work so he sees them all the time like me.

Am just dissapointed the day hasn't gone how I wanted it! Maybe a bit selfish but I am intitled to feel that way once in a while i think :)

Wouldn't have made i round there, especially in this sun!

No, no cause its MIL, just because everyweekend for ages theres been something going on and this one was plan free up until she called.

Sometimes its nice to just relax together in the garden without having anyone else around.

This is sort my Mil does. but it soley so my 2 dd's can play with their youngest cousin so she doesn't have to be with her in the garden.

On the plus side their youngest cousin gets to play instead of having to sit quitely and draw.

I wholly sympathise. You wanted a quiet family day together in the garden, and why not?

My MIL does this too. She did this last week on mother's day at the last moment inviting herself round when I was hoping for a rare quiet family day with DH and the DC. - we couldn't exactly say no. In fact she did it the week before too.

Yanbu. She changed the plan and you have to put up with it. It's not selfish to want to make the most of sunny, plan free days with your own children!

Yanbu and should be annoyed with your dh for taking them round. But why did you not stand firm and say no?!

Goodness I never realised how interfering so many mils could be before I joined MN!

Make sure that she and dh know now that you have plans for next weekend.

Even if it is just for the four of you, she doesn't have to know that...
