...I'm gullible enough to keep clicking on vague thread titles that look interesting but on reading the OP turn out to be A) Really boring, B) Out of place in AIBU, C) Completely fabricated or D) So obvious you shouldn't need to ask.

For example;

A) AIBU to be completely shocked and sickened that...
...my tesco receipt says I paid for 7 lemons but I only bought 6?!

B) AIBU to be really naughty and cheeky and...
...ask you all to check out my shit boring cliched highly original blog about juggling motherhood and work?

C) AIBU to be really upset that...
...my neighbour climbed a ladder and peeped into my bedroom and saw me breastfeeding and has now got the entire street together to tell me I'm sick and disgusting and now we have to move?

YANBU, don't understand why people do that.

Rillyrillygoodlooking · 07/04/2011 03:00

I know some threads are annoying, in which case what is acceptable in AIBU?

Salmotrutta · 07/04/2011 08:10

Ah but sometimes those threads that start off somewhat dull can end up going a bit nuclear Wink

Bucharest · 07/04/2011 08:12

YANBU.
I had a baaaaad day yesterday and spent all day refreshing AIBU wanting to kick some unreasonable ass and in the end resorted to cleaning my floor instead.

ConstanceFelicity · 07/04/2011 08:12

I think YABU. Threads shouldn't be catered for your personal taste.

YouMakeMeWannaLaLa · 07/04/2011 09:06

Very true constance ! But I was lambing last night and was bored shitless (until we had twins at 5am Smile ) and like Bucharest I just wanted something meaty on MN to keep me entertained. Of course, I found it, but not after wading through the disappointing ones!

OP posts:
SarkyLady · 07/04/2011 09:09

Maybe we could all use this thread to link to anything juicy?

Sort of like a filtered version of active convos without all the dross.

welshbyrd · 07/04/2011 09:16

Im loving example D)

YABU, not all topics will interest you
I do think OPs drama the title, in hope of quick answers IYSWIM
But it does not piss me off

ConstanceFelicity · 07/04/2011 09:16

Ooooh lambing! I have been begging the local farmers for an orphaned one (I had a few when I was a teenager.) They look at me as if I'm one lettuce short of a salad... :)

nigglewiggle · 07/04/2011 09:17

YANBU - The 'bragging by stealth' AIBU threads also annoy me.

eg, "AIBU to go completely out of my way to help a total stranger who was beeing bullied and intimidated by a baying crowd?"

Well, no of course you weren't!

TrillianAstra · 07/04/2011 09:20

We need to use OTW for anything that might kick off or get juicy, then you can just search for "OTW".

SarkyLady · 07/04/2011 09:28

Ooh cunning.

At the risk of sounding thick ... Why otw?

welshbyrd · 07/04/2011 09:36

At the risk of sounding thicker SarkyLady, what is otw? Blush

nigglewiggle · 07/04/2011 09:49

One To Watch?

Bucharest · 07/04/2011 09:50

one to watch I think?

welshbyrd · 07/04/2011 09:52

thank you Smile

DurhamDurham · 07/04/2011 09:55

I like to read an AIBU and guess at where the Op will flounce...you can always see it coming. Several posts after trying to defend herself in the face of an overwhelming majority that she is BU the op will flounce. But not before the accusations of bictchiness and bullying.

Still, it keeps me entertained Grin

Bumperlicioso · 07/04/2011 09:57

Justine accidentally posted OTW on a thread to signal to MNHQ to keep an eye on it Grin

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 07/04/2011 09:58

It's bloody obvious YANBU. But I'll forgive you just this once Wink

The made up ones drive me nuts. Why do people do it?

Asinine · 07/04/2011 10:03

You got me, it worked and I clicked on it...

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 07/04/2011 10:03

Actually the made-up BF-ing ones make me quite cross - what are they trying to acheive other than potentially scare off anyone considering BF-ing?

YouMakeMeWannaLaLa · 07/04/2011 13:28

constance No orphans as yet! Thats technically a good thing but a bad part of me often hopes the ewe will reject her baby so I can have it as a pet Blush < Thats an AIBU right there!

Oh yes niggle the braggers; '5000 people walked past a bleeding pensioner who'd fallen over, I didn't, WIBU?' Er, no!

I know jenai it's a hackneyed agenda spreading bf hysteria; why bother? Those trolls need to up their game a bit!

Hassled · 07/04/2011 13:31

I think AIBU should be banned, if only to force people to file their threads correctly. Don't do an AIBU about your kid's teacher, put it in Education. Don't do an AIBU about the piss-poor apples you bought, put it in Food. And so on. AIBU brings out the worst in everyone.

YouMakeMeWannaLaLa · 07/04/2011 13:42

hassled YANBU!

The worst thing is when people starts threads about AIBU misuse in AIBU Blush Blush Grin
