...just to see the signatures?

Never been on Netmums before, but the Banned from Starbucks thread intrigued me with all the allusions to hilarious signatures and glitter.

Oh, I may have tarnished the Mumsnet part of my soul, but boy, was it worth it! I haven't laughed so much since, well technically since this afternoon when one of my class said something that really tickled me - but you get the idea..

usualsuspect · 16/03/2011 22:09

TheSleepFairy · 16/03/2011 22:10

Aw Hun, bless you & have a hug.

YABVU tickers v glitter = twats.

FlaminGreatGallah · 16/03/2011 22:15

PMSL @ TSF.

u do what u want hun ur puter ur choice

gapbear · 16/03/2011 22:17

lol - it's not quite as insane as I'd imagined, but I definitely prefer Mumsnet

I'm staying registered now, knowing that a complete stranger's Lil Man is 7 months, 2 weeks, 2 days, 1 hour, 34 minutes and 3 seconds old somehow makes the world seem a lot more...funny.

what are "tickers" ??!!

FabbyChic · 16/03/2011 22:17

I can't abide tickers, I think if you have to have a sig, it should be a restricted size. It has to be on eBay not sure why other forums cannot moderate the overuse of sigs. It does differentiate posters though and I like them but not glitter/moving sigs and certainly not tickers.

FlaminGreatGallah · 16/03/2011 22:19

Mate of mine had a ticker on FB and we have all been laughing because it is saying that her bean is now 42 weeks old despite being born two weeks ago. She hasn't had a chance to delete the bloody thing obviously Grin

MrsChemist · 16/03/2011 22:21

I signed up a while ago for the local info. I don't go on the chat boards. Too many tickers and shit.

gapbear · 16/03/2011 22:21

Another forum I go on, Farmville (yes, I am a loser with no life, I have accepted this, and moved on Grin ) has sigs, which are also limited in size. I agree, I like sigs, but not tickers, and I would never have a twee one like the ones over there (although I am all for other people having them so I can read them...)

jazz - tickers are little counters with cutesy pictures on counting days of pregnancy / DCs age / time til next nappy change, you name it

MillsAndDoom · 16/03/2011 22:22

tickers

gapbear · 16/03/2011 22:24

wtf???

Luteal Phase Length ticker? Why the hecky thump would I want anyone to know that? Shock

OP posts:
gapbear · 16/03/2011 22:26

Ooh, I could use a ticker to show how old my horse is. If I had one. Or when my cat needs worming.

This is a whole new world for me - thatnks MillsAndDoom

TheSleepFairy · 16/03/2011 22:26

DD1 is 9 years 4 months 2 days 4 hours & 6 seconds old.

I'm 6 hours pregnant & little bean is the size of a, erm.... sperm

I've been with dp 1 day 3 hours & 6 seconds

I do like their smileys though, they can neck pints, slam their head against brick walls & throw sledge hammers at the computer screen.

TCOB · 16/03/2011 22:29

Love the TTC one - does that actually register how many times you have SWI? Kerrrazy! I think I need a ticker counting how many times I say the word 'f*ck' in one day Grin.

MillsAndDoom · 16/03/2011 22:29

2 mins, 54 seconds since I last scratched my arse

4 mins, 12 seconds til I have sex with DH

9 mins, 12 seconds til I can go to sleep Grin

gapbear · 16/03/2011 22:32

Is it wrong to want a ticker now?

Mine would go from 1-1,000, and show my progress of Malteser eating.

OP posts:
TheSleepFairy · 16/03/2011 22:34

I could have a consumption of wine in one evening ticker but I would want the option to hide it.

Catnao · 16/03/2011 22:38

Actually, Gapbear, YABVU, as it is your fault I am addicted to started using THIS site, and now you've got me tempted to have a look at another!

TheSleepFairy · 16/03/2011 22:41

Don't do it cat it's so fluffy & lovey, you can't even say: laughed my piss flaps off or anything.

gapbear · 16/03/2011 22:43

Ooh, hello Catnao! Sorry about the loss of your social life wrt Mumsnet, but we do like it, don't we? Grin

OP posts:
Catnao · 16/03/2011 22:43

What would happen if I joined and put a ticker thing on detailing the worst excesses of my lifestyle?

Catnao · 16/03/2011 22:44

Shut up gapbear! Of course we don't LIKE it, it's an addiction like any other and should be pitied!

gapbear · 16/03/2011 22:44

Your computer would explode...
