I WANT A DRESS WITH SLEEVES ARRRGGGHHH!

bupcakesandcunting · 06/03/2011 15:32

Do you think I can find a nice, fashionable, not frumpy frock for a night out that has sleeves? Not those stupid little cap sleeves that make my, erm, voluptuous arms look like ham hocks in a butchers window. Proper sleeves.

AIBU to ask you to help me find one. There may be a prize involved for the best one. I am desperate. I want to look naice for my friends but the fashion wrld wants me to look like either Liz McDonald off Corrie or my mum going to the Toby Inn for a ritzy night out with the crazy girls from work.

Help :(

Dreaded Boden of course or try monsoon?maybe next?

thumbwitch · 06/03/2011 15:34

more hints please - plunging/high neckline, nipped waist/emperor line, straight/flared skirt or what?
Material type? Glitzy or plain?

TaurielTest · 06/03/2011 15:34

I feel your pain...
The campaign for Proper Sleeves starts here.

BulletWithAName · 06/03/2011 15:35

What about something with lace sleeves?

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 06/03/2011 15:35

I've noticed the dearth of sleeves recently. In the context of wanting to keep my arms warm.

Some wrap dresses have naice sleeves though...

BulletWithAName · 06/03/2011 15:36

Or this?

thumbwitch · 06/03/2011 15:36

this one?

bupcakesandcunting · 06/03/2011 15:37

Yes! The Miss S one is lovely, Bullet.

OK, I am only 30 so don't tend to shop in Next and the like except for daytime/casual stuff. I still like to look "with it" (ha ha what a joke) I prefer Topshop to Wallis IYSWIM?

Am big boobed too so cannot pull off a high neckline. I need it to do all the work for me basically Grin

bupcakesandcunting · 06/03/2011 15:38

thumbwitch · 06/03/2011 15:39

BulletWithAName · 06/03/2011 15:40

Glad to be of assistance! Have a look an ASOS as well, I'm sure you could find something on there.

Liking the pink and black stripey effort, Christiane (I think it was you, apologies if not)

musicmadness · 06/03/2011 15:53

its not floral like the ones you linked to but something like this maybe?
dress

alistron1 · 06/03/2011 15:53

Don't do what I did and buy a long sleeved vintage 70's dress from oxfam. When I tried it on at home I looked like I had escaped from broadmoor after having been banged up for the past 35 years.
