Dp having 'lads' night downstairs....

...whilst I'm upstairs with the laptop keeping an ear out on baby.

Was a tad miffed when dp told me late last night that he had arranged a night in with the lads. I don't mind him having his fun but he knows i dont socialize with his friends and it was too late for me to make arrangements for an evening for myself and little one.

so here I am. bored. stuck upstairs for the evening. Part of me feels like a mug.

Yabu.

Just organise your own night out another day and leave the baby with him.

Can't you go out? He's there 'having a lads night' surely he can listen out for the baby as well.

sjm123 · 11/01/2011 18:20

"I don't socialise with his friends" does sound a bit unreasonable to me. Surely he's entitled to have his friends round to his home, same as anyone else?

You could pop down and try being friendly.

FrequentNutter · 11/01/2011 18:21

It's not unusual! My kids used to do that and I would sit upstairs with my computer, shame about the notice period though.

Do some online shopping and show him he has had to pay for you to sit upstairs!

mutznutz · 11/01/2011 18:21

What's wrong with his friends?

ShatnersBassoon · 11/01/2011 18:21

YABU. It sounds like a nice evening for him.

You're not stuck upstairs, you've chosen to stay there.

AgentZigzag · 11/01/2011 18:22

Sounds awful being trapped in your own house, even if there are things you can do up there.

You'll have to go down and join them, sit there watching tv and being sober Grin

allfurcoatandnoknicks · 11/01/2011 18:22

Why don't you socialise with his friends?

charliesmommy · 11/01/2011 18:23

Why dont you "socialise with his friends"... ??

sounds a bit stand offish to me...

He could have given you more warning though.

mutznutz · 11/01/2011 18:24

I actually talk to my Husband's friends more than he does...being the Gob that I am like Blush

Sarsaparilllla · 11/01/2011 18:27

Actually I'd be annoyed if he only sprung it on your last night, ask him if he can give you a bit more notice another time so you can make plans

allfurcoatandnoknicks · 11/01/2011 18:29

Mutz - you sound exactly like me!!! Reeeespect

charliesmommy · 11/01/2011 18:29

or, ring your mates up, get them round, and turn it into a party Grin

bupcakesandcunting · 11/01/2011 18:30

He knows I don't socialise with his friends.

Re-arrange these words to form a famous phrase - from stick your remove arse the.

verytellytubby · 11/01/2011 18:33

How strange. DH's friends are all mine now.

YABU. You have chosen to sit upstairs.

TattyDevine · 11/01/2011 18:35

Ooh I'd go and crash the party, and take advantage of my husband's hospitality, I'd have him making cocktails within minutes.

Most his friends rely on me for new filthy jokes too, so I'd be obliged.

wishingforcrystalball · 11/01/2011 18:36

Send them upstairs and you sit in the lounge - sorted.

mutznutz · 11/01/2011 18:36

Mutz - you sound exactly like me!!! Reeeespect

Gimme some skin there! Grin

spidookly · 11/01/2011 18:39

yabu

it's his home, his friends should be welcome there.

allfurcoatandnoknicks · 11/01/2011 18:46

Forgive me mutz i have been watching ali g in the house lol

Mumcentreplus · 11/01/2011 18:50

Yabu..sorry love! you should be down stairs 'cramping' his style Grin

ScotlandR · 11/01/2011 19:16

YABU. You are free to leave the house, or socialize downstairs or stay upstairs in a grump. If you are 'stuck' it is no ones fault but yours.

Oblomov · 11/01/2011 19:54

Are you normally this miserable ? You sound completely above yourself. Whats wrong with his friends?
My dh's friends are lovely.
