Tortington · 19/10/2010 22:50

if he went to sleep, i'd call that a win

FreudianSlippery · 19/10/2010 22:52

Pfft. Is that all? Lightweight. :o

My DD went through a phase of only sleeping in her bed when it had a tent in it
Hmm

LittleMissHissyFangs · 19/10/2010 23:18

oh jesus, this is nothing..

Apart from 'The Boys' the assorted soft toys

Tonight he has
books,
woolly hat,
gloves, dunno why just sat there at the end of his bed,
his crocs (to get him down his ladder),
cars,
spinning top,
torch,

This is the stuff that I could actually see. There could be more...

TheLadyEvilStar · 19/10/2010 23:20

haha so they all go through it then?

OP posts:
LittleMissHissyFangs · 19/10/2010 23:22

It would appear so.... I thought it was only mine too...

I don't think I did this.... I'll ask me mum..

Joolyjoolyjoo · 19/10/2010 23:22

Yup- ds has had to be persuaded that "Steggy", his 2ft long plastic stegosaurus that could put your eye out with its tail, and has ginormous spiky plates all along its back is not really a suitable bedfellow, and would be better on the floor guarding the bedroom. Also, he might be tempted to snack on all the other smaller dinosaurs that have found their way into ds's bed over the last few weeks..

TheLadyEvilStar · 19/10/2010 23:28

just gone to check on him and have found he also has

3 cushions ????
a "bounce" sheet for the tumble drier
and is cuddling...
A remote control and a welly boot!

I daren't move the quilt for fear of what I may find.

so glad i have a girl... not quite so dangerous...

dd has:

a giant teddy bear
her tutu
her raggy
some books
a stethascope (sp)
a my little pony (plus accessories)
some tissues
and a pink seashell

we've banned her ds from her bedroom or she'd also have that!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 19/10/2010 23:37

what no stones or batteries?

pigletmania · 19/10/2010 23:39

My dd 3.6 has been to bed with: toothpaste, toothbrush, batteries, hairbrush and tonight she wanted to go to bed with her Hello Kitty umbrella put up I tell you Grin

shimmerysilverghosty · 19/10/2010 23:41

Ds:

Countless Cars of various sizes all lined up along the bed and in big weighty piles all over the quilt.
Teddy Bear

dd:

2 x Kipper Books
1 x Biff and Chip Book
1 x Pink Pop Pal Bear
1 x Daisy Duck stuffed toy
1 x purple monkey stuffed toy
1 x Black and White beanie baby type kitten
1 x Pink unidentifiable stuffed toy (can't work out what it is supposed to be) called......Mr Pink
1 x Happy Land Plastic Princess Figure

It is very reassuring to read that I am not a useless mother because I allow this, as my Mum would have me think (if I ever dared tell her that is!)

seeker · 19/10/2010 23:41

My ds is 9 - and has taken his new football boots to bed!

MrsRhettKilledTheButler · 19/10/2010 23:42

wow piglet! Grin

seeker · 19/10/2010 23:43

Oh, and when he was made team captain, he put his strip and armband under his pillow. Imagine my panic when I got up on match day and was packing is bag for him and I couldn't find them....

TheLadyEvilStar · 19/10/2010 23:46

BALD are stones and batteries a must have??

I shall remember to put them on his bed when i go in.

TheLadyEvilStar · 19/10/2010 23:47

Seeker thats quite sweet actually!

OP posts:
seeker · 19/10/2010 23:51

I know - my heart melted when he told me!

TheLadyEvilStar · 20/10/2010 00:02

Think mine would have too!

Stinkyoldclottedcatspus · 20/10/2010 01:43

Ooh, I'd forgotten 'bed sharing with inappropriate objects' Ds is so big nowadays, there isn't room for anything else! He used to sleep surrounded by Thomas trains, assorted thunderbirds and his fur lined wellies if I let him! They are soo sweet!

Stinkyoldclottedcatspus · 20/10/2010 01:45

And then of course there is me. I sleep with one DP, two dogs, my iPhone, a book and usually quite a few biscuit crumbs!

fernie3 · 20/10/2010 04:30

My son does this but i find it mire disturbing that he has chosen to call his Teddy "panel boy" Hmm
he is 3

AreYouAFreudOfTheDark · 20/10/2010 07:50

DD always sleeps with her fairy wand (it keeps the monsters away) - recently Boris (as in Calm Down Boris) has been sleeping in her bed and holding said wand in his mouth. He also chases monsters away by shouting 'kissy kissy' at them.

On a serious note I'd stop the kids sleeping with batteries - sounds paranoid but if it leaks and they ingest any it can be fatal :(

onceamai · 20/10/2010 07:51

Totally normal. As DS got bigger he took the football, the rugby ball or the cricket bat with him depending on the season, whether they had won or needed luck for the big match. 15 now Hmm

trumpton · 20/10/2010 08:01

Used but clean paint roller anyone ? She had helped her hero Grandadad wash it and wouldn't be separated from it for a while...took it shopping as well.

Ah I remember those days. 2 hours to empty the bed and 5 mins to change the bedding then 2 hours to but all the -crap- precious bits back ( all in wrong place)thus causing a tantrum at bedtime.

BeccaandEvie · 20/10/2010 08:02

This is too funny. My DD doesn't do this as such but she does have 2 blankies and 3 toy rabbits.

I'm a bit shocked at batteries though - they are dangerous aren't they?
